1967 Chevrolet C-10

1967 Chevrolet C-10 Texas barn find with 24k miles. I have no paperwork or anything of the like to prove this claim, but the truck is the proof itself. It was last tagged and put away in the barn in 89', has the tag on the windshield. It had farm truck use plates front and rear (Included with truck).
Truck is not perfect as it was used, but probably mostly around the farm and and only until '89 racking up only 23,000 miles when I got it. The overall condition of the truck and lack of wear in common areas tell the tale. And 23,000 miles is a lot of use around a farm. The front drums were still riveted to the hubs and the shoes were near new, as were the rear, original matching gas cap, original key, 3 on the tree shifter looks brand new a long with the turn signal handle, interior door paint where the arm rested is not nearly as worn as normal etc.. The only thing that doesn't look the part per say is the peddles, but again work on a farm would include lots of starting and stopping versus highway commuter miles.
The truck does not have much rust in the normal places that rust out from years of use but it does have rust in the areas where there were large animal nests. The passenger fender cup is the worst. There is no rust from a battery ever leaking, it was just filled with a large nest and a lot of crud. My plan was to find a rust free original paint fender/cup and patch it in under the trim. Or a new patch could be used and paint blended. The rockers have hardly any rust, only areas where animals made nests. Driver vent does't even have surface rust inside, but passenger is rusty from a nest as is the firewall on that side. The cab corners and doors also suffered from nests. I have prepped and epoxy primed the cab corners and areas of the floor that had pitting which is about the best way to slow down/stop rust.
The truck is a 250 ci inline 6 with 3 on the tree. 514 Red with white top. Single mirror, single visor no arm rests. It is super original and a beautiful truck. All original paint except front bumper. (Not my doing) The truck has all 5 original matching wheels and the 4 original hub caps! All '67 only. There are dings and dents all over but no major damage. I will definitely regret selling this one, but I am moving away for college in a few weeks and it must go.
New:*Brakes. Front and rear pads all new Napa. Original Delco wheel Cylinders rebuilt, no chinese replacements. Delco Master new.*Hei Distributor, plugs and wires. Original points distributor is included. Not sure on my decision to switch to HEI because originality, but it makes for great cruising and I ran a new wire to the bulkhead and rewrapped the harness with factory style tape and used an HEI pigtail (Not thrown in)*Fuel pump and Carter YF carb. Original Rochester B conveys, but has leaky throttle shafts and the Carter is a way better carb. Truck fires right up and runs fantastic. Does smoke slightly, but could be rich. Compression numbers were about 110 and spec is 130.*Fuel tank is a clean one out of an Arizona truck*Nos Delco Spiral rear shocks. Super cool and come with orig boxes. Truck had helper shocks*Bed wood. Pine with bare strips. I wanted to paint wood black like factory for '67 but opted to give the buyer the choice, as most would stain. Bed is not tightened down in pictures, all the trim and body lines match up perfect when it is.*Floor mat and door sills. The seat is original and was protected by a seat cover, but discolored due to it rubbing on the seat. I "Dyed" the seat back to the original color with SEM. It looks great but does have rips and tears.
*New door weatherstripping*Battery4 pieces of missing trim were added, 2 of them Nos. All that is missing is the side tailgate trimThe tires are new within a couple year and have a few hundred miles.
It will need a new muffler and repair past the muffler due to rust, but the tip could be used and has hardly any surface rust.
Truck is a great driver. Oil and coolant and fresh. Doors and hood close great even despite having new seals on the doors. Before the seals they closed like butter. It shifts great. This is an amazing truck that any 67-72 enthusiast would appreciate, or anyone into classics. It would be a museum piece if it weren't for the rust, but by no means a rusted out. Here attached are close ups of rust and lack of underneath. The truck still has markings on the rear of the frame and of course the firewall.
