1942 Chevrolet Other Pickups

This is a RARE1942 Chevrolet truck that was found as a nice barn find. The body has some dings and scars from where the fenders were torn and then rewelded. The only body filler that I personally know of is in the bottom of the doors where I patched and hammer welded and por15 inside. There could be more somewhere else but I have not seen it.I would imagine since it was a barn find a lot of repairs were ever done on it.The original(i assume) paint was black and we sprayed Russian Sage Mint green over it,then sanded back to the black. I did not fix anything,no welds, dents, dings,or holes.I did not hide anything with a bunch of filler.what the body needs you will see.the bed has been used the tailgate is dinged up.All fenders are dinged/dente, doors are nice. The truck is a crowd magnet,it rides well, all the glass is there,no cracks, windows roll up and down, windshield was glued in it.cowl vent is there but urethane shut, the truck has new carpet and I didnt want either leaking on it.Doors open and close nice, hood works properly,..no wipers, no horn,no emergency brake,.In 42 this truck had 1 tailight,no horns,no running lights,no highbeams, but has low beams with turns on top of headlights, the truck does have front and rear turn lights and a single brake light in the centerThe truck sits super low without air bags. The frame i was told (never verified, didn't care)is a 93 S10 2 wheel drive blazer. The rear was factory narrow,I was able to put an 11.5" wider rear wheel under the rear fenders for the pro touring look.
All 4 tires have 800 miles on them. The rear tires are 12" wide.New parts I can think of is misc brake parts and lines,1 wire altenator, rear serviced with amsoil, new carpet, new battery, new patina paint,New electric fuel pump,New wiring, new water pump and gaskets, and new valve cover gaskets.all new radiator hoses and new rubber hoses that were necessary and the ones I seen.New electric fan,new belts.I am sure I am missing something without staring at the truck. The truck has been problem free,I wont hesitate to drive it anywhere. If it do not sell it, I will be driving it a thousand miles to Nashville.I wont hesitate. Before you drive it a thousand miles, you should inspect the safety of the truck yourself, i will not be responsible for the new owner, what happens with the truck after you buy it, is in your control not mine. i cannot control your driving habits or safety.
The truck has a stock clean,93 chevrolet 305 and 700r trans.(at least that's what the donor car said under the hood, thats what I have been buying parts for)
The truck has a barnwood bedfloor and new fuel tank
has a oil and temp guage no speedometer...i have kept up with milage on the Gps every time it is moved since it was finished. I have it to the exact mile899.6 is what I have put on it since finished it will change buy a couple of hundred over this coming weekend,i will be driving it out of state.
truck runs 195 degrees sitting, speeding, pulling,or at idle.may differ with elevation and climate?im in virginia.
the truck has power brakes,power/tilt steering, has the a/c compressor under the hood, but not finished. i have some GM lines and a/c condenser but that is all i have for the ac.you will have to get whatever it takes to make it cold from the ac pump to the cab.
the truck rides/drives great, looks killer, and sounds great,it has flowmaster knockoffs but it sounds good.
it is a true head turner,It was built to look like it was a survivor hot rod from the 80's .I dont consider anything rat about it,but, but some words are used loosely if it isnt a hundred thousand dollar car.it has a nice bench seat with no tears and plenty of storage under the seat,i did glue insulation not weld patches over the holes in the floor under the seat in case someone wanted to put the tank back under the seat.i left the filler neck in the cab so there would not be a hole in the cab to leak water,i left the wiper holes in case someone wanted to put wipers on it.i use rainx and it works better than the older vaccum wipers worked. it has a period correct grant shelby style wooden steering wheel.signal lights are on column.
i cant think of anything else other than its a well put together truck to drive the wheels off of.Again, I dont hesitate to drive it anywhere.
