About the 3100 Chevy Pick Up
In March of 1955, Chevys 'Task Force' series of trucks (as they were called) were introduced. They featured smooth rounded sheet metal, large wrap around windshield for better visibility and styling cues derived from their new line of sedans and coupes. The new trucks rode on wide six-cross-member frame, allowing for longer front and rear leaf springs. The standard half-ton 3100 series had a 114" wheelbase that is shared with the Cameo trucks of the same time period. The 1956 Chevy Truck is considered by many to be the best looking Chevy Truck of all time.
