This 1969 Chevrolet Suburban was assembled at the General Motors automobile factory in Fremont, California. It has been in the same family ever since it was brought home to Hermosa Beach, CA back in 1969. It was purchased 6/16/1969 by the original owner and was transferred to his son on 2/27/2000. It has been garaged and covered since new and has just 63,302 original miles. It has never been involved in an accident and is straight as an arrow and rust free. Short of some mild updates that can easily be changed back to original, this Suburban looks as if you went back in time and saw this sitting at the Baher’s Chevrolet lot in 1969.

This Suburban has many factory options; it has the original 350 V8, manual four-speed transmission, ¾ ton chassis and 4x4 drive. It also has the optional factory Air Conditioning, factory AM radio and heater. It comes with the original spare tire, jack and tire iron. It also comes with the original owner’s manual, protect-o-plate, factory warranty card and an extensive amount of documentation, which has been meticulously organized. The interior is like new and original.

In additional to the many factory options, there are several very unique custom items that were done that make this Suburban even cooler than it was. The first one are the mahogany storage boxes that were custom made to fit each side of the cargo area. On the boxes are also rails that support a custom bed, which consists of a wood platform and foam mattress. There is more storage underneath the rear seat in the custom-made storage box. There are also two custom made interior bar racks to carry your surfboard and skis. Some additional custom items that have been done are a tow hitch, heavy duty springs, dual exhaust, brush bar, tow hooks, oversized tires, kill switch underneath the dash and tinted windows.

Everything on the truck works as it should. The vehicle was recently checked over and serviced two weeks ago and received a clean bill of health. This Suburban has been maintained almost to excess. There are records and receipts for regular services, to a complete overhaul of the entire braking system and even an engine rebuild in March of 1985. The service history and documentation of this vehicle is incredible.

PRODUCTION HISTORY

The 6th generation Suburbans featured a single driver-side door and two passenger-side doors, and were available in both2WDand4WDmodels.

Engines offered over the six model years included the 250 and 292 CI inline 6, 283, 307, 327, and 350 CI small block V-8, and 396/402 CI big block V-8. For the first time, a three-quarter ton version was available.

A new grille with a wider horizontal centerpiece debuted for 1969along with a foot-operated parking brake (which replaced the former hand brake). A quartet of new V8s debuted this year: a trio of 350s with outputs ranging from 255 to 350 horsepower and a 396 with 310 horses but more torque than the smaller V8s.

This series would also be the last to offer C-10 & C-20 panel truckmodels for commercial purposes, with 1970 as the last year.
