History:

This Vega was all stock and all original with less than 40,000 miles 10 years ago when the transformation started. It spent the majority of its life in southern Ohio with the original female owner. It was always in good condition with a rust free undercarriage. I have a copy of the original title, registration stamps throughout the years, and additional title/registrations to verify ownership history and mileage, all of which will be included with the other paperwork. The Cosworth instrument cluster and odometer from donor car #1054 read 64,000 miles and was installed at 41,000 miles, so you always subtract 23,000 miles from Cosworth odometer to get the correct miles for the body. Below is a brief history and all the details about the car...

1st Owner Ohio:

- 1973 to 2002, all stock and original
- Sold with 35,000 miles

2nd Owner Ohio:

- 2002 to 2003, all stock and original
- Sold with 36,000 miles

3rd Owner Ohio:

- 2003 to 2008, mostly stock and original
- Had the car professionally repainted in 2006
- Sold with 40,000 miles

4th Owner Illinois:

- 2008 to 2016, modifications performed
- Installed Cosworth drivetrain, wiring harness, interior and suspension
- Sold with 45,000 miles

5th Owner Pennsylvania:

- Miscellaneous repairs, changes and additions
- Added custom fender badges (removable)
- Added rear valance reflectors and front driving lights
- Fixed transmission leak at speedometer gear seal
- Purchased Linenberger BBB Cosworth T-50 transmission

Engine:

- 1975 Z09 Cosworth Vega 2.0 liter #1054 had 64,000 miles
- Refreshed/rebuilt with new gaskets, seals, timing belt, etc
- Currently has 4,000 miles since refresh/rebuild
- 2.3 liter stroker crankshaft
- Steel sleeved cylinder walls
- Venolia forged pistons
- Reindexed camshaft sprockets
- Factory Bendix EFI with rebuilt injectors

Transmision:

- BorgWarner T-50 dogleg 5-speed manual
- New clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing
- Input shaft bearing rattles a little in neutral with clutch out, common complaint on many manuals, operation is normal
- BONUS: Comes with rebuilt Linenberger balanced/blueprinted/bushed T-50 transmission. This T-50 is specific for the Cosworth because it has gear ratios specifically for the Cosworth, which differs than a T-50 in a Chevy Monza. While this transmission is only valued at $750 I feel it is priceless, because its not common and not easy to acquire. It should stay with this car until the owner wishes to have it installed. (This transmission is small, weights only 65 pounds, and any competent technician can install in a few hours for $200 to $250 labor)

Rear Axle:

- 1975 Cosworth Vega with 68,000 miles
- 7.5 inch 10-bolt with 3.73 gear ratio
- Torque arm with coil springs and panhard bar

Exhaust:

- Factory header with ceramic coating
- 2.5 inch pipes with Magnaflow muffler

Suspension:

- New control arm bushings front and rear
- New stabilizer bushings and end links
- New tie rods, center link, ball joints
- Tubular upper front control arms
- Custom power steering bracket
- IROC steering box
- Cosworth Vega stabilizer bars
- NOS KONI shock absorbers
- Cosworth 13x6 alloy rims with NOS center caps
- 205-60 tires with 90% tread (comes with 2 extra matching tires)
- Brakes are stock with front disc in good working order and ready for upgrade

Interior:

- 1975 Cosworth Vega with 68,000 miles in excellent condition
- New carpet with dynomat/fatmat sound deadener
- New gold machine-turned instrument face

Body:

- 45,000 original miles
- Repainted original "chamois" color in 2006 (rate it 8 out of 10)
- NOS taillights
- NOS taillight gaskets (2)
- NOS marker lights
- Clear GT front parking lenses
- New door handles and door mirrors
- New rubber weather seals everywhere (except pop-out quarter windows)
- Yenko Stinger reproduction rear spoiler
- Custom fender badges and stripes
- Rear valance red reflectors
- Front driving lights are not wired and the ones you see in the photos are not included with the sale. These auxiliary lights have sentimental value and will be replaced when the car is sold. I just purchased brand new driving lights that are very similar and will be included with the car.

Issues:

- Bumpers are original and in good condition but have nicks, scratches, scrapes, dings, etc
- Bottom of fenders and quarters were patched and have a few small blisters where stripe is
- Right rear tire has a slow leak at the bead I believe, needs broken down and resealed
- Everything works except volt gauge and lighter (both disconnected for fire safety purposes)
- AM radio is like-new and correct for car but not wired up (just mounted in dash to look good)

Miscellaneous:

Selling for health reasons (concussion issues). The car is priced to sell. These 1st generation Vega's sell for $4k to $6k in rough condition. It would cost you $20k to build this car not including labor (nice original car + paint + Cosworth donor car + engine work + transmission and parts + suspension + trim parts + all other parts). It comes with owners manuals, shop manual, tech manuals, ownership history, car show display card, a bunch of Cosworth newsletters, car cover and a few extra parts (Linenberger transmission, spare ECM, 2 matching tires, handfull of small parts). I have a clean PA Title in my name ready to be signed and notarized upon payment. Please don't forget to read Terms of Sale below...
