A TRUE AMERICAN CLASSIC!!
As we look back in time and we think of all the awesome cars produced in America in the 50's and 60's, there are only a few that really stand out and became the trend setters for automobile enthusiasts around the world. Undoubtedly, the Chevy Impala became a true American classic almost the moment it was born. And since its debut in 1958, it would remain one of the most sought after vehicles of all time. Vehicles like this 1966 Impala Convertible offered here today become very important to collectors because not only does it have all the correct ingredients when investing in a car of value, it encompasses a time in America where automobiles weren't just built, they were developed around people. As we all remember the ad, "See the USA, in your Chevrolet...." we can never forget that sense of pride when driving in a Chevy and if you can picture cruising in this 1966 Impala, with the top down on route 66, it becomes more than just a ride it becomes one of the most memorable experiences of your life.
This 66 Impala presented here today, is certainly not the best example you have ever seen, nor will it win any concourse judging. But it represents a true, honest car that has survived the test of time. Please read on to find out the condition of this car and let us know of any questions you may have. Thank you for visiting.
Exterior:
As you can see from the pictures this Impala presents very well. It wears an older paint job that still has shine and luster, but up close you can notice some blemishes. A good wet sand and buff would do it justice. The body panels are solid and straight. The frame and floors and trunk pan are also solid. All the glass is clear and damage free. The chrome and bright work are original and still show some luster. The convertible top was replace around 7 years ago and presents in excellent condition. The top has a glass rear window and is full power and operates flawlessly. The passenger side emblem has to be installed, but it does come with the car. The car presents in driver quality. Which the current owner doesn't hesitate taking it out on local and/or long trips. Please view the pictures and let us know of any questions you may have.
Interior:
The interior as well presents extremely well. The interior was restored within the past two years and has all new upholstery, including new seat covers, new door panels and side panels and new carpets. There has been an aftermarket stereo added to the dash. Also vintage A/C was added to enjoy long hot rides and it will freeze you out of the car if you let it. All the gauges work as they should and the windows operate smoothly. There is a color matching convertible top boot that also comes with the car. Please view the photos and let us know of any questions you may have.
Drive-Train:
Under the hood is the 327 4 bbl engine. The top end was recently rebuilt. The engine runs very smooth and provides plenty of power. The powerglide transmission shifts perfectly and the car cruises at 70 mph with ease. As stated earlier, there is a full vintage a/c system that works amazing and really cools down the interior on hots days. The dual exhaust system sounds excellent with just the right amount of sound to hear that V8 come alive. There has been an aluminum radiator and an electric fan added to keep her cool on long trips. Also, the engine still has its original torque cables to assist the motor mounts. A VERY hard to find original option. It comes with power steering and the brakes were upgraded with a power brake booster for better performance from the 4 wheel drum brake system. All other components are road worthy and ready for the road. Please let us know of any questions you may have.
This is a great car that you can get in and enjoy immediately yet also tinker with during the off season that won't break the bank. Reserve is set at a reasonable amount. It is set to sell, not waste anyone's time. Thank you for visiting.
