MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this handsome and rarely seen 1963 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 900 Convertible. This is the true classic Chevy’s enthusiast’s dream, especially with the rare option of the “Monza” 102hp power plant! Of all the Corvairs sold in 1963, 80% were Monzas, 20% of those were convertibles.

The Chevrolet Corvair is a compact automobile manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet for model years 1960–1969 over two generations. As the only American-designed mass produced passenger car to feature a rear mounted air-cooled engine, the Corvair was designed to compete with imported cars such as the original Volkswagen Beetle, Porsches, as well as the Falcon, Plymouth, Studebaker Lark and the Rambler American.

Finished in period correct Madeira Maroon Metallic over a very well kept black interior, this handsome Corvair presents well displaying an older paint finish that has held up well but does hove some minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Both the front and rear bumpers fit nicely with a brilliant finish and compliment the body with a tasteful contrast. All additional trim and bright work is present and in good condition. The black convertible top is a few years old and does show some age but goes up and down with ease and fits tight with no rips, tears or holes. The top’s back window is clear with no yellowing. Car also comes complete with a convertible top boot that is in good shape and fits well to the body.

Inside, the front and rear black upholstered seats present very well having been recently refurbished, all look great with no major signs of wear visible. The door panels and padded dashboard show extremely well with no damage, cracks or major signs of wear. All gauges are original and function as designed along with the factory heater. The original steering wheel is in very good condition with a nice finish, no cracks and a functioning horn. The black carpet shows only slight wear.

This nicely presented and well preserved Corvair features a 102 hp 145 cid flat six cylinder mated to an optional and very desirable 4 speed manual transmission, as well as front independent coil-spring suspension, independent rear suspension, four-wheel hydraulic brakes, 13 inch original steel wheels with “Bowtie” logo wheel covers, whitewall tires, dual Chevy bow tie outside mirrors, and more. This great looking Corvair will be right at home on Sunday drives, and can be shown with pride at local car events. The previous owner has included with this car a vast collection of “How to” Corvair shop manuals, service manuals, parts catalogs, assembly manuals and original owners manual

Despite the Ralph Nader legacy, Corvairs are fantastic cars to own and drive and remain, at least for now, some of the most affordable classics on the market. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!

Current mileage on the odometer shows 96,365 it is sold as is and is and mileage exempt on a clean & clear Michigan title.
