The car is in exceptional condition and the interior and the trim is also beautiful with virtually no real noticeable flaws! Importantly, he car has four virtually new 'BF Goodrich TA' tires and working air conditioning. Purchased by us recently with reportedly 52K original miles! All the options are working including all gauges and lights and the AC. The L82 Corvette had a designated fifth digit VIN number with a number '4' to designate the high performance 225HP L82 V8 engine option instead of the number '8' for the standard L48.
After Corvette's various legendary big block engines of the sixties, he 396 c.i. with 425HP & the various 427 c.i. engines, ncluding the limited production L88 and then eventually the LS6 454 in 1971; Chevrolet continued production into the early seventies with the big block 454 engine but by 1975 it was dropped from the Corvette range, s along with the rest of the industry, e-tuning to meet increasingly strict emissions testing regulations legislated out of existence virtually every American high performance car by the mid-seventies, ith the Corvette alone remaining the almost sole choice for any kind of remaining muscle car type performance. And so the Corvette continued into the late seventies with a pair of small block V8 engines, he standard L48 and the obviously more desirable and upgraded high performance L82 with performance oriented rear axle ratios. With its strong torque output and relatively light weight, his Corvette still provided strong performance and thrilling driving dynamics and equipped with this L82 option engine, he Corvette was reportedly the fastest US productions car for 1979, ivaled only by the limited numbers of the Pontiac 400 Trans Am 6.6L of the same year.
This is obviously one very rare and highly desirable example of this classic American sports car - a completely rust and accident free 1979 Chevrolet L82 Corvette with reportedly only two owners since new and believed to be only 52K original miles with factory air conditioning, ower windows, irror roof T-Tops and the high performance L82 engine and 'Gymkhana' suspension option.
