1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS

Decode the numbers and you'll see that this 1965 Chevrolet Malibu SS is the real deal, omplete with a 138 VIN, n upgraded 327, right white bodywork, nd a gorgeous red interior. Chevy positioned these as the cars that could do anything, nd even today this handsome ragtop will draw a lot of admirers everywhere it goes.Originally Tahitian Turquoise over white vinyl, obody will complain about the handsome white paint this Malibu wears today. It's been driven and used a bit, o it's not perfect, nd the cowl induction hood isn't quite perfect, ut the overall impression is a good one. The low-profile looks of the Malibu SS have aged well, nd this one benefits from the traditional performance look of a cowl-induction hood. Even with that bit of performance image, his one exudes class and dignity, nd with a muted rumble from its exhaust, t's got a quiet confidence that works rather well. There's minimal trim, lthough what is in place is in excellent condition, ith bright chrome bumpers, straight grille, nd correct Malibu SS badges on the quarters. The bright red vinyl interior is a great contrast to the white paint, resenting an unusual yet period correct combination that truly stands out. Buckets and a center console are highly desirable upgrades, nd the seat upholstery is expertly restored with correct materials and patterns. New red carpets and fresh door panels look fantastic, iving the interior a bright, iry feel that makes this car very easy to live with. The original gauges have been replaced by modern Stewart Warner pieces that fit neatly into the dash for a very clean installation. The two-tone steering wheel and column combination looks awesome and there's a modern AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in the center of the dash. The trunk is neatly finished with red carpets that look very clean and the recent white convertible top stows neatly under a matching red boot.As a code 38 V8 SS, small block V8 under the hood is a natural. The 327 cubic inch V8 was rebuilt with a few upgrades and dressed like it was at the factory. The original air cleaner still lives up top, lthough it's been chrome plated to match the valve covers, et wears a reproduction sticker. A newer alternator, n Edelbrock carb and intake with long-tube headers add some horsepower, nd Chevy Orange paint makes it look right. It's backed by a 4-speed manual transmission and a 10-bolt rear end, o the powertrain is pretty much bulletproof, recent Flowmaster dual exhaust system gives it a great V8 voice but doesn't betray this car's low-key demeanor. Handling is crisp, s Chevelles have always featured coil springs all around, nd braking is confident despite the lack of power assist. Four 14-inch wheels with original SS wheelcovers look right and wear recent BFGoodrich redline radials that complete the simple, nassuming look.Just a tidy, o-nonsense Malibu, lbeit one with a great look. Forget all the customs and flashy resto-mods, his is a car with the right look and a ton of potential. Call today!
