A frame off nut and bolt restoration was performed on thisentire truck recently. I use the term recently because this truck is 50 years old and it was just finishedjust under 2 years ago. As you can see in the pictures (and even more noticeable in person) not one detail has been overlooked. The entire chassis and every part was disassembled sand blasted, ainted, nd reassemble using factory grade fasteners and replacement parts. Some upgrades were made using stainless brake, uel lines and fasteners where needed. The suspension and steeringhave been upgradedwith all new hardware, ushing, earings, tc. Most parts are from CPP & GMthen refinished to the same factory appearing satin black. Upon my inspection I soon forgot onceagainthat I was underneath a truck that's 50 years old. Only garage dust and the 2000 miles has settled in on this highly detailed chassis. Although it appears to be a show queen, his truck was built to be driven and the owner does just that. When he has the time its been driven to several major shows taking awards at all of them. When its not stealing the show its driven around town a few times a month just for the fun of it.
Moving to the body you notice that the flawless "Tuxedo black" couldn't of been a better choice to show offthe quality of its restoration. A full recolor inside and out usingMatrix/DuPont products only resulted in this immaculatedisplay of finesse. The paint and panelgapsare laser straight and the term smooth as glass has never been more apparent. They arefitted on the level ofperfection that only comesfrom experience, atience, nd skill. With every panel removed, tripped, nd prepped, hedexterity of its craftsman truly becomes visiblein every segment. The repairs that come with restorations on this levelremain undetectableand without any modification to the factory skeleton. When it came time to seal in this work of art every weather-strip, indow seal, elt, lass guide, nd bumpers have been replaced with GM quality parts. After assembly the entire cab was fitted with Hush Mat to ensure a quite and cool comfortable ride. The entire truck was color sanded to a show quality standard and buffed toa impeccable finish showing off the skill and man hours invested. The bed on the truck is light oak, t was stained and cleared to appear just asaccomplished as the body. This entire restoration was performed by the skilled hands at Murphy Cadillac in Melbourne Florida with over 46 years in automotive service industry.
INTERIORThe interior is remarkable,A refined approached to the factory styling was all that was need to make this c10 stand out. The "Tuxedo Black" and hints of satincarries through the insidewhilebrick color inserts add some contrast on the door panels.A Vintage AirA/C keeps this truck ice cold in the dead of summer and nice and warm in the winter. A Retro Autosounds Stereo with USB hook up and AM/FM capabilities jams out the tunes through a set of JL Audio 6x5.5 and 6x9s speakers mounted nicely in the kick panel and behind the seat. The factory bench seat has been rejuvenated with black leather and alsobrick colored inserts adding more contrast to all black appearance.A Billet Specialties steering wheel on the factory column adds some style while you stare beyond it to thehighly detailedfactory instrument cluster monitoring the vitals. Custom bound black loop carpet and matching floor mats finish it all up while the Hush Mat keeps down the noise and heat.
DRIVELINEThe driveline of this truck was made possible also by the crew at Murphy Cadillac. Working hand and hand with GM Performance Parts selectingcomponents that would perform well under any situation with a 60s muscle vibe. With the line up of small block power offered by GM, he ZZ4 350/355crate engine with 700R4 transmission seemed to be the mostidealmunition for this classic truck. A few modern upgrades weremade includingcam swap, alve springs, ushrodsand roller rockers to squeeze just a few morehorse powerout of the already boastingengine.A few of the normalbolt on extras were addedtipping the HP meter to around the 405 range. The engine was installed using the CPP tubular mounting system. With just over 2000 miles you can rest easy knowing this engine performs well on the highway and even betteron the back streets of thecity. The rear end is a open 12 bolt with a great gear forany driving situation. This truck cruises well at 70 in the lowRPM range making it killer to drive at any speeds. I personally put about 70 miles on this truck and was blown away by its performance and ride in both situations. I would not hesitate a minute if I needed to drive across the country in it. below is a list of key features throughout the truck.
