Overview of the Car

Well this is one that I bet you didn’t think you would find here on eBay! If you feel this way, hen you are like I was when seeing this car for the first time. It is breathtaking! Very nicely preserved and nearly all original example of Cadillac’s finest in 1981!

This example was primarily owned and garaged in Virginia since new, p until 2010 and owned by car collectors since then, ncluding me.

Based upon a critical view of the car, t’s evident the miles are truly 55,300 because the interior is nearly new and all mint. There is not even the slightest of wear on the driver’s carpeted factory Cadillac floor mat, s it was always covered by another mat during use. The steering wheel leather is perfect, he dash and all trim and gauges are as new, nd the seating and headliner are amazing and also “as new”. Mechanically, t seems to have been well maintained throughout its life. It was also garaged, nd it shows. The paint is mostly original, xcept for the Bordeaux Red, hich was repainted by the former collector owner to a high quality lustrous finish which is factory correct.

There isn’t anything to complain about with this car, s the V-8 engine starts quickly, uns smoothly, nd drives as a Cadillac should, ithout hesitation or any other issues. It runs on all 8 cylinders all of the time and all service is up to date.

All services have been performed by Cadillac, nd the car has had brake, teering, il, nd transmission fluids exchanged and all other systems checked out thoroughly. It has new tires and a 4 wheel alignment.

In addition, he entire fuel injection system has been updated, ncluding new injectors, uel pump, uel filters, nd fuel sending unit along with a full tune up, nd full brake service, ront and rear, ncluding master cylinder, rake booster, otors and pads. Front Shocks have been replaced, long with power steering pump and idler arm, pper ball joints, V Boots, nd front axles. Next, he Air Conditioning System serviced including a new control board which currently blows ice cold, nd/or heat is hot. Transmission and Motor Mounts have been replaced, nd exhaust system from the catalytic converter back is relatively new. Alternator, elts, oses, nd battery are also recently replaced. Trunk and Hood shocks have also been replaced.

Next, ased upon the extensive service, am happy to report the car drives AWESOME. It starts quickly every time, nd best of all, t doesn’t leak, attle, tumble, tutter, r otherwise, ake any other weird noises! It was updated in many areas due the age of the car to ensure many more years of reliable service.

Performance of the Car

We’ve already described the running and driving of the car, hich is to specifications and very solid, uiet, ith no noises, attles, esitations, r other issues. The 8 Cylinder Engine pulls the car around very well. We run 89 octane that is Ethanol free in the car with additives to the fuel for optimal performance. With regards to the electrical accessories, ll of these perform flawlessly and work as new, xcept for the power antenna. The antenna can be lowered or raised manually. A new replacement unit will be included with the sale, ut not installed on the car.

The stereo radio and cassette works great and all speakers are alive with sound. All of the lighting works, nside and out, long with the factory illuminated entry system and fiber optic lamp monitors.

Power windows, ocks, teering, rakes, irrors, eats, nd all other aspects are perfect and work as new!

During my time with the car, have primarily only used it at local Cadillac car shows. It was most recently part of a local Cadillac club meeting in Burlington, orth Carolina, nd received rave reviews there from a very discriminating audience! We drove it round trip approximately 250 miles with absolutely no issues!

History of the Seville – 2nd Generation

This model was made by Cadillac between 1980-1985, o the basic architecture is solid and well proven. It was equipped with the 6.0 L engine mated with variable displacement fuel injection due to the strict requirements of the CAFE (US REGULATION) for fuel economy back in the 1980’s that required better gas mileage on these land yachts. The former owner had the V-8-6-4 feature disconnected in 1983 and has run strictly on 8 cylinders all of the time ever since. The car will seat 4-5 passengers very comfortably!

· Overall Length: 204.8”

· Shipping Weight: 4,167 lbs.

It is really a floating living room. It garners attention from every direction when it is on the road. When not in use, t is garaged, ay and night.

As with any 34 year old car, ou have at least a few things on the list worth mentioning that could use attention at some point:

  • Power antenna doesn’t work but can be lowered and raised manually. A new one is included with the sale that is the GM factory approved replacement part.
  • The fiberglass filler on the driver’s side rear is cracked as shown in the photos, ut this may be easily replaced/repaired.
  • Some chips in the paint from 34 years of use are evident, ut very minor. They are visible in the many photos taken.
Apart from these, here isn’t anything stopping anyone from simply enjoying the car, as is”, s I have.

There hasn’t been any body damage on the car, eaning no accidents or fender benders. It appears solid and very clean, olished, nd presentable.

The undercarriage is solid too, ith no signs of rust. There are photos of the undercarriage. Check ‘em out via the BOX link provided.

By the way, e call the car “Ruby”.

We've got over 100 photos of the car at all angles, ncluding more detail of interior, xterior, osmetics, nd the trunk/engine compartments via Box.com.

I've tried to depict and to relate the true condition of the car, o there aren't any surprises. I've bought and sold many of these over the years, s I'm a private collector, long with a member of the National Cadillac Club, nd by virtue of this I can sell this car to the next owner with a very clear conscience! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or need anything further.

Thank you for your interest in my auction. Note my 100% positive feedback.

Please do not bid on the car unless you are able to complete the transaction! Thank you for your understanding!
