GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this highly original, low mile, 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible for consideration. Finished in Firethorn factory color over red interior with white top, this Eldorado shows 28728 miles on the odometer. These miles are said to be and believed to be original as the car appears to be all original including most of the original paint. The car was sold new through the Executive Garage of Cadillac Motor Division to a GM Corporate exec. Since the car has traded hands to a private collection out of Ohio until our recent acquisition.
The car is powered by its massive 500 cubic inch V8 motor paired to an automatic transmission and front wheel drive. Features included: power windows, power door locks, climate control, power convertible top, leather seating, power seats and much more. The original interior remains in excellent condition showing some normal wear on the driver bolster, the exterior appears to retain most of its original Firethorn red exterior paint, original chrome and trim and shows very nice. Under the hood remains very tidy, original and shows all the signs of routine service and proper attention.
The name Eldorado is derived from the Spanish words "el dorado" which translates to "the gilded one" or "the golden one". In 1952, Cadillac built the first concept Eldorado to celebrate Cadillac's golden anniversary. Since its insertion into production in 1953, the Eldorado has remained to of the heap in the personal luxury car class. The symbolized the best America had to offer in automotive design, luxury and performance. They were big, beautiful cars the stimulated a sustaining love affair with luxury for 50 years.
