Description:

1960 Cadillac DeVille

I'm gonna roll the dice and offer my classic 1960 Cadillac with a $1 starting bid and NO RESERVE! This car is running and driving as is but needs a complete interior redo. Everything is there, but it all needs to be gone over. The headliner is shot, the seats are well worn but usable, door panels and kick panels need recovering or replacing. The floor pans have some rust but can be easily patched. The first photos I've listed show the driver's floor (with my feet), the front passenger floor pan, then the back driver's side then passenger side pans. I'll update the listing with more photos over the next couple days. You can currently drive the car while you gradually fix things up. Chrome is real nice and all 4 original hub caps are still there. All the grill bullets are still there but could use a good polishing. This car is a great "20-footer." Mechanically the engine is great. It starts right upevery time, transmission shifts nicely, tight steering and with the new tires it feels great on the road. All 4 doors open and close like new with nice tight hinges that display zero slop. Mechanicals that need attention are the wipers, 1 power window doesn't work, 1 window has a new motor butworksintermittently, and the blinkers aren't working. I just got off the phone with the previous owner who said the blinker issue is a ground wire. I also asked about the PA Rebuilt Salvage info on the new title. He new nothing about it and the Floridatitle I turned in to Texas DMV had no such branding. The front end had many mechanical parts replaced and having been under the car can see no evidence of structural repair. All 4 brakes were redone less than 500 miles ago. The booster doesn't seem to be working but the brakes still function. My mechanic said to test the vacuum check valve. There was an extra brake booster in the trunk so I don't know if it was replaced, waiting to be replaced, or waiting for a rebuild.I'm trying to list everything I can think of. I will post many more detailed photos over the next few days so put this gem on your watch list and keep checking back. With NO RESERVE, come next Sunday my "Batmobile" will have a new owner, regardless of final bid.I've been buying and selling oneBay for over 15 years with almost 1000, all positive transactions.Of course this 60 year old gem is being sold as-is and please only bid if you are serious about completing the purchase. I've only sold 3 or 4 cars oneBay over the years and those transactions went smoothly. If you have a low feedback count or are new toeBay, please contact me or your bid may be cancelled.Anon-refundable deposit of $500 is to be paid immediately afterclosing through PayPal. The balance is to be paid in cash or postal money order within 7 days of closing. The car is kept in my modern 40' X 60' shed located 40 miles north of Houston Texas. Viewing is available during the duration of the auction, just contact me. If you're not local, you may send arepresentative to view the car. I can store the car for as long as you need (within reason) as long as payment is made in full within 7 days. No pick up will be available between August 25th and September 10th.PereBay rules the winning bid is a final contract.I will update the listing with more photos and will take a video of the car on the road and add a youtube link as well.Give me a couple days as things have been 100degrees plus here and being in my mid-fifties, I'm trying to pacemyself.I would love to keep the car, but I have too many projects (10 vehicles) and need cash to buy a tractor to maintain the 10 acres I just bought behind my place.Good luck and happy bidding!

I also failed to mention the drive shaft was rebuilt, balanced, and new carrier bearing installed in Huntington Beach CA.Yes, this car has zig-zagged all across the country. I was actually considering driving it to Minnesota to sell when I go home for my family reunion.

Just a reminder to those bidders with a low feedback rating (less than 20) or short history on eBay (less than 6 months), you must contact me through eBay and introduce yourself as a serious bidder or risk your bid being removed. This will become imperative toward the auction closing, so make contact ahead of time.I'm just protecting serious buyers from being outbid by someone who may not be serious about completing the transaction. I'm trying to take a lesson from other auto seller's experiences.
Thanks again for all of your interest.
I plan on getting to the Ranch in the daytime to put together a video before Friday.
Keep checking back.
