The name "DeVille" is derived from the French de la ville or de ville meaning "of the town".The Cadillac Series 62 is a series of cars which was produced by Cadillac from 1940 through 1964. Originally designed to replace the entry level Series 65, it became the Cadillac Series 6200 in 1959.For 1958, there was a new grille featuring multiple round "cleats" at the intersection of the horizontal and vertical members. The grille insert was wider and new bumper guards were positioned lower to the parking lamps. New dual headlamps were used and small chrome fins decorated the front fenders. Tailfins were less pronounced and trim attachments were revised.MechanicalThis Cadillac has 85,000 original miles and has original matching numbers engine and transmission. Car starts easily and idles smoothly. All lights work correctly, new battery. The car runs and shifts great. Brakes will need serviced. Exterior Exterior is very straight showing only minor blemishes. Car is solid front to back. Frame rails, floor pans, trunk pan, and under body all solid with no rust issues. All glass is in great shape. All doors, locks, and windows operate correctly with no issues. Chrome is all complete. Had some surface imperfections that was touched up with similar paint/Looks good but isn't perfect (see pictures). Easy restoration project or keep it like it is.
