1969 Cadillac DeVille Convertible: Last DVC

The 1969 model year was the prettiest of Cadillac's third generation, which many consider to be the final period of Cadillac greatness. This was also the last generation that the DeVille was ever offered as a convertible. The subsequent years also suffered from progressive power- and style-robbing changes to comply with emissions and DOT regulations.) This model was designed by legendary General Motors stylist, Bill Mitchell, and was the most successful year in DeVille history.

The '69 De Ville is powered by a massive 472ci V8 (7.7 liters, and 375 horsepower!) coupled to a TH-400 automatic transmission, which is still in wide use today for high-power, performance cars. It is practically 19' in length and its seating easily accommodates 6 passengers.

As is often the case with Caddy's of the period, this particular car is heavily "loaded”. Options and standard equipment include variable ratio steering, power brakes, power windows, 6-way power seats, power top, AM/FM Stereo radio, Climate Control A/C and heat. Comfort and convenience innovations are headrests, full leather seating with safety front seat back and padded dash (no cracks), non-glarerear-view mirror, electric clock, Hazard Warning system, outboard seatbelt retractors and rear cigarette lighters, three-speed recessed windshield wiper-washers, Light and Mirror Groups, a trip odometer and an ignition key warning buzzer.

This car is highly original with evidence of touch-up paint work here and there, but the sheet metal, the interior, trunk and drivetrain are as delivered new. The new top, top motor and top well (it comes with a matching boot), are perfect, plus there are new tires, new exhaust, and a detailed engine compartment. Its overall condition is fabulous, especially considering the originality. She is razor straight, which is rare with such a dark color. Mechanically, she is excellent, and everything, including all the power options, works properly. She turns heads and gets thumbs-up wherever she goes and drives and rides in that famous Cadillac style. It recently completed an 9-hour round trip of 500+ miles without a glitch and without burning any oil!

If you're looking for a Classic Caddy Convertible in superb condition, from a collectible year, in one of the most attractive color combinations ever, this Caddy is hard to beat. She's showy, but with great class.
