Please defer to the video. Thanks. *** Evolve Motors & Chicago Car Club are pleased to present this 1974 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible! This '74 Eldo has covered just 25,480 miles over the course of its 44 year life. As expected from such a low mileage car, it is in absolutely tremendous condition. This car has been owned by a friend of ours, the second owner, here in Chicago for twenty years, and stored in a heated garage right in the heart of downtown Chicago. It has been serviced and detailed here at our shop, Albany Auto, for quite a few years now. The car has actually been in the Chicago area since new, having been delivered new to Park Ridge, IL. No worries though, this car has always been garaged and the condition of the undercarriage is extremely impressive. Having picked the car up on a sunny day and driven it for the first time through downtown and along Lake Shore Drive, the first time behind the wheel of this car was a memorable one. I've driven many, many interesting cars from all different corners of the automotive universe and nothing, and I mean nothing, garners attention, smiles, and photos quite like a bright yellow and white drop-top Eldorado. With the top down and a good polishing, this car is nothing short of a spotlight on wheels. Considering the time-capsule-like state of the unrestored interior and the rust-free undercarriage, it's clear that this car has been extremely well-taken-care-of throughout those 44 years. We've been having an absolute blast with the car and have been driving it routinely. There's really nothing to knock on this car; it runs and drives phenomenally well, the mint-condition interior is as comfortable as could be, and the car looks fantastic from every angle. Exterior: First off, paint. The car was repainted in the correct Apollo Yellow here at our shop, Albany Auto Chicago, ten years ago. Paint was done to an extremely high standard; Albany Auto is Chicago's #1 body shop according to Yelp, and does absolutely tremendous paintwork. Although paint was done ten years ago, it truly looks as though it was painted yesterday. There is not a single chip on this car and we mean it. Not at the lowest corners of the skirts, not on the under "lip" of the hood, not a single chip, scratch, or blemish. You could pick this car up and drive it straight to a show. Chrome is equally as mint, and really makes this car a head-turner. Chrome is mirror-like everywhere - bumpers, trim, logos, etc. White convertible top is in excellent shape, with no stains, tears, or discoloring. The body is also in excellent shape, with no dings whatsoever. All doors and body panels open and close with ease. Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free throughout. Wheels are excellent, with no damage or curb rash. Tires are American Classic whitewalls, with the DOT number indicating they're from 2014. Tread depth is 11/32" at all four corners, which is extremely close to new, as new tires tend to be 12/32". Interior: Much like the rest of the car, the interior is time-capsule-quality. White Sierra Grain leather is excellent throughout and the quality of the interior materials is very evident. Seats are in great shape, with no cracks, tears, burst seams, or scuffs. Door panels are excellent, with no kicked-open markings, no armrest discoloration, and no signs of wear really. There is absolutely no fading or damage throughout the interior. Wooden dash panels with engraved designs show as-new, as does the black upper portion of the dash. No cracks, sunbleaching, or anything of the sort. All powered systems are functional, including wipers, radio, A/C, heat, defrost (front and rear), antennae, powered top, cruise control, soft-close trunk, all interior lights, gauges, thermometer, and seats. Black carpeting is in excellent shape, with no tears, fraying, or stains. Odometer is functional and reads 25,480 miles, which is accurate, based on known ownership history and of course the outstanding condition of the car inside, out, and underneath. Under the Hood / Underbody: This Eldo Convertible retains its original 8.2L 500cid V8 and Turbo Hydramatic transmission. The car runs and drives very, very well. It couldn't be better, really. It starts right up without fault, idles cool and steady, and tracks nice and straight under both acceleration and braking. Brakes feel very good, with no fade, hooking, or squealing. The car is dead silent at speed; it's so quiet that it's easy to make the mistake of thinking the car has stalled out and begun coasting, though of course that isn't the case. The big V8 provides silent, effortless acceleration and combined with the opulent interior, is the perfect long-distance-drive car. The car truly has no tendencies or noises of concern; it eats up speedbumps and potholes quietly and smoothly and has never so much as stuttered on the road. Underneath, the car is in extremely nice shape. Frame rails and rockers are nice and solid. There is no rust whatsoever. You may note that there is a dent in the muffler when looking at the underbody photos, we have since replaced the muffler with a new one. Overall, this '74 Eldo is a well-sorted, show-ready beauty. Buy with confidence, I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the country tomorrow. For those of you on the hunt for a near flawless Eldo, look no further. This is one of the good ones.
