Here is an extremely rare 1959 Cadillac Superior Landaulet 3-way hearse. Offered for sale to the public for the first time since 1962. We have been after this car for a year trying to buy it and finally were able to succeed. It was found by a friend of ours at a funeral home in a small town in Sonora, Mexico in their storage building. It was purchased by the funeral home in 1962 and was in service there until 1989 when it was taken out of service and put away in storage. I have photos of the car, where it was found under layers of dust and dirt. We had to go two hours into Mexico to pick the car up and bring it across the border. It is very cool find with all it's original Mexico registration stickers still on the windshield, dating back to 1962. Along with its original funeral home name tags still mounted in the side windows saying "San Francisco" which was the name of the funeral home that owned it. The car is totally complete with its original red velvet drapes, casket table and plastic Superior logos.
After bringing the car home we went through in mechanically so it starts, runs and drives. We also cleaned the car up to show what was under all the dirt. It cleaned up very nicely and looks great. It would be a fun car to use just the way it sits. Or would be an excellent candidate for a full or light restoration and you would have a $100K plus car. Either way this is a super rare find and these rarely ever come up for sale. This is also a very rare model as it is the Superior Royale Landaulet with the extra chrome and landau bars on the back and also the 3-way casket table. Don?t miss the bidding on this one!!

This '59 Cadillac looks great for driver but upon close inspection, it has an older cheap paint job on it. Again it really deserves beautiful new paint to be a show car. All the chrome and trim on the car is in actually very decent condition with a nice shine to it. The car overall seems to be very solid with the exception of a small patch in the drivers side floor and few other small spots on the underside. It is not a rusty car as spent its whole life in central Mexico but in the interest of full discloser we want to be upfront. All the glass in the car is great except for the left rear door have a crack in the glass. It?s a flat pane of glass, so it would be an easy fix. The rubbers in the car look to be original and need replacing.
The interior looks to be mostly all original but would need to be redone to be like new again. Although it can be used as is for now. Everything inside the car is correct and original for the Superior hearse like the extra trim, name tags, velvet curtains casket rollers and casket table. These items are the first to go missing on one of these cars and impossible to find!
We went over the car to get in running and driving condition. Like going through the brakes, fuel system, cooling system, new fluids and a new battery. The car starts up and was just driven around the area here a short distance. The original 390ci engine sounds great and runs nice and smooth. Before you start driving the car a lot or long distances, you would still want to do some fine-tuning to it. This car was sitting the last 28 years so it may need a few bugs to work out of it still. We also did a light detail under the hood so it looks very presentable.
