1957 Cadillac Series 62 Hardtop Coupe

A friend of ours bought this car a couple years ago, here is what he had to say about it:

This car was purchased a couple years ago from a gentleman in Ohio that performed the restoration. He is a Cadillac fanatic and has restored several prior to this one. The original white paint was replaced with current Cadillac pearl metallic white that looks fantastic. The car was completely disassembled, including windows and all door jams were refinished as well. I have driven it a couple thousand miles and it always draws a crowd.

Largely stock with some improvements to make it a better driver than it was when I received it. The stock exhaust manifolds were leaking so I replaced them with ceramic coated Sanderson headers that run through stainless steel pipes to the exit in the rear bumpers. It sounds nice, no leaks and has a nice subtle exhaust note that is easy on the ears cruising the highway. The intake is stock but topped off with anEdelbrock fuel injected 4 barrel carburetor and batwing air cleaner. The original generator was not up to the task of running this and the electronic ignition so it was upgraded to an alternator in a stock housing that will keep everything working properly. Shocks were replaced with Ride-Tech and the windshield wiper motor was converted to electric from vacuum. Stock wheels were replaced with Kelsey Hayes wire wheels with wide white radials.

The engine and transmission were rebuilt with only a couple miles on them before I took delivery of the car. I have changed the oil regularly and made adjustments as needed along the way to make sure it was ready to drive at any time. I bought it to drive it and that is what I did do. It is an amazing road trip car and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere.

Power steering works great and is effortless. The power drum brakes are adjusted properly and feel great all the time, even with this 5,000lb car. The engine pulls strongly through all the gears and will cruise at 80 mph all day if you ask it to. I lived with it in Texas for two years and the speed limits are 80 mph on most rural highways. The Air conditioning is very good and the car was driven in 100-degree weather regularly.

This is a unique piece of American design and heritage. It should go to a good home that will drive and enjoy its style and design and understand the nature of a 60-year-old vehicle.

There is a box of stock parts that come with the car along with extensive paperwork and receipts.
