All there but needs restoration. Sitting indoors since 1975 (except one season years ago). Have not started. Rolls fine and will winch on trailer. (Tires are shot and just rollers). Front fenders have rust/rot holes, along with hood. Trunk sides need patch panel (typical). Trunk side brackets need replacing (available at Classic Fabrication). Front seat has a few tears. Rear seat one tear on bottom-pass. Carpet needs replacement. Body work on drivers side door and 1/4. Windows on drivers side installed, but stuck in down position-motor off. Hub caps on two wheels don't stay on. Some molding pieces missing on car, but in trunk and some pieces bent/damaged. All the wood veneer is there. Assume you'll need new window motors from NAPA.When restoring, recommend replacing both fenders and hood. Rust spots have primer and back paint. Drivers door was replaced. Body work done on driver 1/4 panel (see pics). Probably should work on the 1/4 panels before filling.Rare Eldo only long trumpet horn had been blasted and restored black ($400+ horn!). All AC components there. Rare vacuum tank for door locks is there. Cruise control all there (unknown if working). Dash area around cruise control switch in dash is cracked (taped temporarily)
Good news...almost all parts are there to restore. Some chrome molding that is not on car is in the trunk, but a few piece are bent. The drivers side bottom piece moulding is not in good shape, but there. As some of you may know, the mouding on this car is worth a lot as it is Eldorado only (but you can aquire Fleeetwood 4 door and cut). This car worth restoring as you can see from the Hagerty values, so I decided NOT to part out, even though some expensive rare parts on this beast. Under car frame looks SOLID! (except trunk sides) See pics. Typical rust on side of trunk, but I had the same on my '66. Bought the brackets from Classic Fabrication in MA, and I welded them on in a weekend on my '66, so would recommend doing on this one. Also replaced the bushing in my '66 (Rubber the Right Way), and would recommend doing bushings for the four brackets while your under there.
Rare to see the door panels with the lines still on them, and you can use as templates if you decide to replace the Japanese Tamo wood veneer. Car has been indoors since '76 except for I believe one season according to last owner, when it was parked for a season under a pine tree, hence the damage to the front fenders and hood. (Front of car was under tree). You do not see similar rusting on top of trunkfor example, more surface rust, protected here and there with primer. Get it running, do the brakes and lines and prime it black as a driver car!. The back seat surprisingly still looks OK, even the front seat with a few rips here and there (taped). The dash pad has NO cracks or rips! $500 for the dask pad alone on this car :) Wish my other Eldo had Cruise control, this one does along with Power Locks. I checked in drivers door and the parts are there! (Drivers door lock plastic top broke) I have stored this car inside a trailer (see pics) since I acquired it from long term barn storage. Last guy owned since '75, and previous original owner was from NJ.Car sat in a barn and was not driven in Upstate NY, and looking underneath you can guess it was NJ car (see NJ sticker in pics).
Bumpers are not rotted out and would be OK as cores for rechrome. Needs new top of course, but top goes up and down manually easily.
Highly recommend inspecting car before purchase. If you are top bidder you bought the car. Happy to send add'l detailed pictures. Not trying to hide anything here. This car does not start, needs fenders and hood, and new lines (gas/brake), and who knows what else if you get started, but priced accordingly. If you hit the reserve, you'd be able to part out and make much more than the reserve, but hopefully you are buying to restore :)
Desirable Black on Black "Tuxedo" option with white top! I have 4 other 65-66 Cadillac and I'm currently doing a frame up resto on a '66 Caddy vert, so no time for this one. The reserve is well under the Hagerty Fair value of $19,200!
(I also have a 40' trailer of Caddy parts, and will be listing items for 65-66.)
