1942 Cadillac Other Series 63

1942 CADILLAC SERIES 63

Restored only as required

Finished in stately black which was perhaps a premonition of the dark war years to come. This 1942 Cadillac Sedan was one of the last group to have all of its bright work intact and still todays displays excellent chrome trim and excellent bodywork. The paint is of high quality the lines of the car are as laser straight today as the day it departed the factory. To complement the exterior is an exceptionally restored correct-style tan interior. The dash and instrumentation on this Caddy have been restored to a high degree and present extremely well. The odometer reads a believable 9941 miles. The engine compartment is spectacular in its unmolested condition and could very justifiably be left the way it is to preserve its character. Interestingly the radiator shroud has been stenciled with some cryptic markings which seem to indicate past a military service. Further research on this vehicle could very well reveal provenance to one of the great generals that helped win the war for the allies and mark this prewar Cadillac as a wonderful piece of American history. The first group photos we present were shot by Bill Pack a nationally recognized commercial photographer. You can see some of his other works at http://v12enterprises.com/Using the Hagerty Rating System we rate this car a #2 a #2 vehicles could win a local or regional show. They can be former #1 classics that have been driven or have aged. Seasoned observers will have to look closely for flaws but will be able to find some not seen by the general public. The paint chrome glass and interior will all appear as excellent. The vehicle will drive as a new vehicle of its era would. The one word description for #2 is "excellent."
