1966 Buick Riviera

PLEASE SEE ADDITIONAL PICTURES BELOW. TWO VIDEOS AT THE VERY END. This is a genuine factory GS, Super Wildcat dual-quad optioned car of which only 179 were made and identified by the MZ engine code and were made available beginning Feb 1966. I know of 10 that exist with maybe 5 of those in driving condition. The car spent its life in north central CA until I bought it in 2009. I completed an authentic frame-off nut and bolt restoration in 2016. I hesitate to use the term "restoration" because so many "restored" cars are slapped together using repop parts with little attention paid to the fine details of maintaining authenticity. Special attention was paid on this restoration to maintain originality whenever possible even including areas you can't see. No changes were made during the restoration that would compromise the senses on how it felt to drive the car off the lot in 1966. The 425 nailhead engine was built to stock specs including the most critical and impossible to find Buick 091 dual-quad camshaft. All suspension rebuilt to stock. Stock exhaust system with NOS GM resonators. Retains born-with matching numbers/date coded front to back including engine, carbs, intake, BS code transmission, 3.42 posi rear axle, alternator, starter, voltage regulator, master cylinder, radiator, horns, and all 4 original date coded T3 headlamps that still work! (A set of repop T3s are installed in the car and the originals stored in box). All glass is born-with LOF Soft Ray date coded original. Born with the following desirable options: GS (includes 3.42 posi rear, special BS code transmission, chrome air cleaner, aluminum valve covers, heavy duty suspension and interior & exterior ornamentation), Super Wildcat (includes dual quad carbs, chrome air cleaner, and high performance camshaft and distributor) A/C, Power windows, Power driver seat, Deluxe interior, Shifting console and Bucket seats, AM/FM Stereo, Cornering lamps, 4 note horns, and Rear defroster. The optional wood steering wheel was the only option added. Includes original issue CA black plates. Painstaking effort and countless hours went into making sure every part and finish is accurate with exceptions where I intentionally changed the finish in some areas for aesthetics. Originally the car was light gold. I chose the stunning Shadow Turquoise which was a standard 66 Riviera color. The body prep and paint is concourse level. The interior is original except for carpeting and floor mats. I chose to stay with original upholstery and sacrifice small imperfections to maintain originality as I have not seen an upholstery shop get these seats correct to my satisfaction when redoing them. The car runs and drives like it should. The performance is nothing short of incredible for such a big car. Everything works including A/C on R12 and has not been topped off since it was charged in 2016. You could wait a lifetime and beyond to find a factory dual quad 66 Riviera this well equipped and in this condition. I’ll refrain from stating the often misleading seller comment “None better” and I’ll leave it up to buyer to determine. It is important to me that the new owner be happy with the purchase. I recommend personal or professional 3rd party inspection prior to purchase so buyer can satisfy it’s mechanical and cosmetic fitness. I will be happy to provide detailed answers on any questions you have. Vehicle is SOLD "AS-IS, WHERE-IS". No expressed or implied warranty. .....................................................................................................................................................................
