The black plate California survivor has a clean title in hand and registration through July 2019. The car was originally delivered to and sold by Nelson Buick of Burlingame, in the San Francisco Bay area and has remained in California ever since with only two driving owners, separated briefly by charity possession.

This sale is driven by the seller moving overseas.

Engine is a year and model correct 430 V8 but not original to the car. The GM ST-400 transmission and Buick 3.07 open rear axle both came with the car when built.

Car starts, runs, idles, drives, shifts and stops fine. Audible tick from the right cylinder bank fades as engine warms. Brief puff of blue smoke emits from the tail pipes on first start of the day if the car has been sitting for a time. Dual exhaust system runs leak-free from the factory manifolds back. Manifold gaskets leak a little (common and annoying) but are a straight forward fix.

Power windows are functional. Headlight motor is in working order; concealed headlights flip up and down as designed.

Four corner drum brakes function acceptably as you prepare to upgrade to a two- or four-wheel disc system, kits for which are widely available and engineered for tidy weekend accomplishment.

Older repaint in delivered Riviera Gold (factory code ZZ; see picture of firewall tag).

Floorboards, frame, and majority of sheet metal remain solid even as the re-paint shows its age.

Repairable corrosion at the quarters and corners due to years of daily driving, un-sheltered driveway parking during wet California winters, and sub-par older paint job, the latter being an unfortunate if valuable learning experience in getting what one pays for, to the dollar and sometimes less. The car has never been driven on the beach or in snow during the last twenty two years of ownership, however.

All hardware, trim and badging is installed save for the aftermarket left front fender door guard due to an unfortunate parking lot scrape (see pictures). The new owner will want to get rid of those anyway to restore originality. They're not native to the car.

Upholstery, dashboard and carpeting are in serviceable older condition. Front seats were reupholstered years ago but are again cracking with age.Headliner and trunk cardboard were removed at end of life and are ready for replacement. Door straps are missing but doors open and shut fine using the arm rests and paddles.

Retrofitted years ago with factory air conditioning from a donor car and subsequently converted to R134A refrigerant; this system would benefit greatly from an update of the A6 compressor to one designed for the present day refrigerant. This was done recently with the seller's other Riviera (very possibly coming soon to another auction) with good results.

Lap seatbelts for driver and all passengers are in good shape; update to shoulder belts can be done with the right kits. In the meantime, the dash board remains well padded for the passenger unprepared for sudden stops on drum brakes.

Radio is in working condition but power antenna needs overhaul.

Glovebox latch is broken, with the tumbler core missing, and will require replacement. Shift console glove box lock opens, shuts, and locks satisfactorily.

Wheel locks installed to protect road wheels which were not delivered with the car but are year and model correct for a '67 Riviera. The original steelies and hubcaps are long gone.

Sale includes 1967 Buick Service Manual, Rochester Quadrajet Troubleshooting guide, and 1967 GM Fisher Body Manual, all original; no copies. The owners' manual is currently missing. If and when it is found, the seller will happily pass it along to the new owner.
