Heres the story! In 2008, this car started life as a rust free, arrow straight Texas 1970 Skylark Convertible. It was purchased by a executive at General Motors to use to build his wrecked 70 Stage 1 Convertible he wrecked in high school. He sent the car to a very well revered restoration shop in Texas, had the car stripped to nothing using the original drivetrain from his 70 GS Stage 1 car to create what he had in high school. One thing led to another and $50,000 later...this is what he ended up with. The closest thing to what he had in high school. In any event...this gentleman passed away in 2009 and this car, pretty much the way it is, was sold with only test miles on it on eBay for $34,500.
Now, 10 years later it has about 1500 miles on the build. Being well sorted out over the next decade to make a reliable, trouble free, leak free car!
Here is some of the details from the original 2005 listing and some of the updating that has been done since then!

Im sure I'm missing a bunch more! The car looks great, runs even better! It really drives like a new GS!
So, this was a overkill build...but its a super solid no rust ever no replacement panel car that is very technically correct. Granted, it was built 10 years ago, but only 1500 miles on it during that time...it was stored in a climate controlled garage since and always run.
This is no pig in lipstick!!!! This is a car you can get in and drive to work in the summer, show on a Saturday, and take to golf on Sunday.
The car is for sale locally and you really need to see and drive this car to appreciate it! This auction can and will be ended early in the event of a sale outside of eBay
I am a collector of interesting and quality muscle cars. I bought this car because it was a bargain for what I was getting. I just not have utilized the vehicle. I have a Professional 2009 appraisal for $35,000 from the Volo Auto Museum and the car has only been improved on since then.
A great car for someone that wants a issue free 70 GS 455 for around half the money! A Win-Win!
I have access to Central Dispatch (shipping broker account) and can get you a deal on shipping if you choose to have the car shipped.
Conversely I'm happy to pick you up at Ohare airport if you are flying in...or send your inspector! This car does not disappoint...and sometimes it pays to buy from a seller who has actual feedback for selling collector cars, (like myself), collects with knowledge and passion, and most importantly...DOES NOT OWN JUNK!
(630) 273-7595 call me anytime....looking for a easy sale! No time for the drama!
Hobbies are changing and wife says sell it...if I want to invest in other hobbies! Lets make a deal!
