Description:

1983 Buick Riviera Convertible

I'm posting this for a car club Member's family who is selling a vehicle from their estate in Franklin, TN.
It's a senior-owned 1983 Buick Riviera Convertible. Believed to be 2nd owner (might be first? Still checking details on that), vehicle has 66k miles on it and is loaded.
Exterior has some paint fade consistent with age, but otherwise very straight/solid/no collision history. The car is equipped with the V6 as mostwere and this runs remarkably smoothe and quiet as a luxury car should. Was just serviced prior to this sale.OPTIONS:
Power Steering, Pwr Windows, Pwr Locks, Pwr Mirrors, Pwr Seats WITH Seat Memory Option, Pwr Antenna, Pwr Top, Cruise (works!), Tilt, Wire Wheel Covers, Leather Seats, V6, AC (works and blows cold), Remote Decklid Release
EXTERIOR: Paint is mildly faded and likely needs to be professionally buffed to bring back its luster. Family informs me the plastic bumper fillers that were famous for cracking due to age were all replaced/repainted and done well. There is one small "ding" at bottom edge of the left door at rear. I suspect anyone good with PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) can remove that easily without doing any paintwork. Except for the driver door sag due to age, the body looks near excellent with no signs of collision or damage. Bumpers have good brilliance with no dents. Impact strips are all intact. All lights work and are very bright/vivid. The Windshield is cracked and owner is in the process of having it replaced by their Ins. carrier or will give a $200 credit to buyer if preferred. The Top was recently replaced and is in good shape. Power top works as it should. Factory color coded tonneau cover is included.
Panel alignment is good. No signs of rust etc. Hood Ornament is off the hood, but a replacement kit is in the glovebox that owner never installed.
INTERIOR: Interior is Leather. Seats have the "Seat Memory" Option and it works. Power Seats work great. Interior is a burgundy color and in good shape overall. Dash top is not split which is somewhat rare for these. The Seat base on driver's side is a bit thin and can easily be color-coded with marhyde (spray on) to look just fine. Carpets are all original, clean and no sign of fading. Steering wheel has a small crack observed, but it otherwise fine. I have a lead on a new GM Steering Wheel in a box that might be available at an additional cost from a club member for this.
Interior only needs detailing. The left door jamb area has some paint-loss where the driver door sag has made contact over time. It's an easy fix with paint and will make for a seamless repair. This well loaded example has a digital dash that will have to have the cluster removed and repaired. These are easily accessible and available. Digital dash works fine at start up before it starts to flash thru the sequence etc. No unusual musty odors etc. All original floor mats intact.
MECHANICAL: Owner was a member of the BCA (Buick Club of America) and has all the usual known issues addressed for this 83 Riviera. I cannot overstate how well this car runs! I thought it was a V8 initially for its performance but its a stock V6. The ignition module was just replaced as was the battery. Power antenna makes noise but does not go up thru the fender(these are available online). One front wheel has a vibration that appears to be either a tire balance issue. Decklid pulldown works as it should. Engine bay could use detailing. No obvious oil leaks or worn parts etc. Coker whitewall tires have less than 500 miles on them. Transmission shifts/works as it should (feels tight/right). Rear Power Windows move slowly---I suspect they only need to be lubricated as the car sat after the owner's passing.
This is a really choice vehicle needing mostly cosmetics to be a great collector car. Additional photos available on request.
Priced consistent with NADA book value and other comps for this vintage.Owner is open to reasonable offers in the spirit of a sale or headed to auction. Prices seem to hover anywhere from 7500 to 15000.00. Reserve is somewhere im the middle of that value range. Please use good judgement before making any offers.Interested parties may contact: Chris 615.979.3058
