This wonderful 1937 Buick Roadmaster Series 80 Convertible Sedan Cassis no. 3063784 stands out due to its remarkably preserved original condition. Formerlypart of the Art Astor Collection, t was sold by RM auctions for $66,000 in 2008. Its history and provenance is well known, t returned from WesternCanada, nd resided in 2 west coast collections originally Howard Hughesprior to making it into the Astor collection, hich was known for having rare and original automobiles. I added a few pictures of the buick in the Astor Museum.The 1937 Buick Roadmaster Convertible Sedan offeredhere is a remarkably well preserved highly original example. Clearly the recipient of outstanding care,the Buick has only needed very minor attention, rimarilymechanical in nature to keep it running in peak condition. Exercised regularly, ike all the other cars in the Astor Collection, his Buick is a fine running and drivingexample. The motor was completely rebuilt, nd is smooth and powerful. The radiator has been changed to a modernaluminumthat uses stock mounting bolts(stock radiator comes with sale.),and runs cool even in warm CA weather. It is a finecar that can be toured and enjoyed.The factory applied paintwork has been buffed to achieve a very nice shine, owever, his has left it quite thin in some places. I'm sure some areas in the painthave been touched in over the years but it is largely original. The black cloth top, hich which has been done in the last 5 years shows well, nd is fitted with theProper rear window and original glass. Likewise, ome selected items of the bright work appear to have been refinished at some point, ut overall, he chrome islargely original and as such in impressive condition. The interior appears to be mostly original (except for the seat that was recovered); the original factoryinstalled brown leather seats and door panels have been well maintained. Like the carpets, he leather shows some evidence of wear, hich is expected given itis seventy years old. Rear seat is Brand new Brown Leather.Trippe driving lights, nclosed dual-side mounts spare tires, potlight and Brand new wide whitewall tires. It was treated to a complete professional restoration several years back and has been used sparingly. Converted to 12v without modifng the car from stock. 12v powergen Alt in a generator body. HEI dissy made for a straight 8 50,000 volts to each spark plug. She runs like a top. Roadmaster is geared for the freeway and 80mph plus car. In very good driving condition.
Recently tuned and serviced, ncluding a full front brake rebuild. Rear speedo isnt hooked up to front.Sold as is!
