1959 Buick Other INVICTA COUPE

1959 BUICK INVICTA BUBBLETOP COUPEThis buick has a really unique style and look. It has large fins and the great bubbletop rear window. You don't see these at car shows very often but I personally think it has a distinct look that I like better than the other GM bubbletops. This car is a solid start but does need full restoration. It has a clear title. It may run. I'll detail everything below. Thanks and happy bidding. If you want to do something early on it email or send number and I'll call. I can send a link to more pics. I've included a couple pics here of restored '59 buicks. This is a great candidate for a kustom or lead sled. MECHANICALThe drivetrain appears all original including the wildcat air cleaner. This engine is a 401 nailhead with a factory 4-barrel and 325 horsepower. It has 10.5 to 1 compression stock. The motor turns over by hand fine but the starter has problems. I did not take the time to switch starters and try to get it running. I'm sure it would also need the fuel system cleaned brakes bled etc. at the minium. The transmission is an automatic and does shift and hold it from rolling. Tires are not good. Hubcaps in the pics are not original and not included. The motor/transmission may be usable but not sure. You'll have to just get it running and find out. I'm sure you can get it running it's just a matter of whether it smokes or not. BODYThis car has a decent body for restoration. There is very little rust on the exterior. The rust that it does have on the exterior is behind each rear quarter. The drivers side has a little above the wheel passenger side doesn't. Each side has very minor rust in front of the rear wheels. No frame rust. Roof doors jams firewall header etc. look fine. Low floor pans are rusted. You could use pan sections to fix it but it may be easier and better if you do the whole interior pan. Low trunk pan is rusted also. Rear heat has sheetmetal that directs heat underneath the seat. That sheetmetal is rusted. I would just delete it anyways. Most cars of the era did not have rear heat. The body on this car needs full restoration. Some of the flat glass needs replaced. Some trim is bent up/damaged. Look at the pics well. Doors close fine. INTERIORThe interior also needs full restoration. The uphostery is rough. Seats and springs will need redone. Headliner is in it. Dashpad is gone but gauge area and dash panel look pretty good. Original radio is in it. I don't see any "hard parts" that are gone except maybe a door handle or crank and I'm sure they are easy to find. OverallThis is a good old car for original restoration or custom rod project. Thanks and happy bidding. Clear title.
