1940 Buick Other

For sale here we have a beautiful example of pre-WWII American automotive luxury. This Buick Convertible is thetop of the line for the 1940 model year. The convertible top, ngine-turned dash, ush-button radio, ual covered spare tires and amber fog lights all add to the charm and class of this vehicle. Humphrey Bogart owned one similar to this, hich was featured in the movie "Casablanca." I included a picture of an article about this in the photos. This particularexample has been in my family fornearly half a century. It was restored in the early 1970's by Clarence "Click" Green, lifelong Buick mechanic and enthusiast, rom Westlake, hio. It was sold to another family member about 8 years ago. Neither of these gentlemen drive anymore soI have beenasked to sell the car.

I have driven this car myself and can personally attest to the condition. It is a verycomfortable and powerful car even by modern standards. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. It starts easily, uns smoothly, nd the transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears. Mechanically everything appears sound. Unfortunately I do not know how many miles are on it since the rebuild, or do I know if the odometer has been flipped.

The pictures tell the story on this. If you have any questions, lease ask before bidding and I will do my best to answer them in a timely fashion.

This car is being sold for absolute auction price: A one hundred dollar opening bid and no reserve. Bid early, id often, nd to win it; bid last! A non-deposit $200 deposit is due via PayPal within 24 hours of auction end. The remainder will be paid via cash or cashier's check upon pickup. The vehicle is located in North central Ohio and can be driven away, r trailered.

There have been some questions already, o in response:

The wheelbase measures 126 inches. An electric fuel pump has been added to make the car start more easily. The hood latch handles have the word "Century" on them, isible in one of the photos. This car has two carburetors and has had them for as long as I have been aware of it, ut I don't know if it came from the factory like that. There are some stains and discoloration of the convertible top, hich I have also tried to show in the pictures.
