1986 325 e30 with 5.0L V8 Swap, No Reserve!!!

Price: - Item location: Clarksville, Maryland, United States
Description:

1986 BMW 3-Series

This is a no reserve auction for my 1986 BMW 325 with a 5.0L V8 swap, T-5 manual transmission and fully tunable EFI system. This is a great project for someone looking for something a little different. At 2,800lbs, RWD and V8 it makes a nice drift car also. Runs and drives, I currently have it registered. Clear title in my name.I've really enjoyed this tinkering around with this but it's time to make room in the garage so I'm letting it go at NO RESERVE!

The body started life as a run of the mill 1986 325es.The V8 swap is a Ford 5.0 with EFI (fuel injection). The factory Ford ECU has been upgraded to a Megasquirt ECU system which allows you to connect any laptop with a serial port directly to the ECU and tune just about every possible engine parameter. There are numerous after market EFI computers to use with a 5.0 but I am partial to the Megasquirt because there is so much information out there to help you tune it exactly the way you want. The ECU is fully controllable using Tuner Studio which is available for free which makes tuning this system a blast.

The diff is a 2.93 LSD and the suspension has adjustable coils. The brakes are factory but all new.The e-brake system was completed rebuild. The interior is in great shape, better than most e30's out there.

Speedometer works but the tach is not hooked up.I replaced thespeedometerin order to get a working odometer which reads 158k, but the correct milage is 166kas shown on the title.I am including a Dakota Digital tach conversion box that takes the feed from the ECU and converts it for the BMW tach - included!Power windows and power mirrors all work. The correct mileage

What it Needs: Various odds and ends, it is very much a project and by no means a show car. It's going to need tires and the clear coat is peeling in several spots. The paint is just OK and there is some rust developing in the typical e30 locations like on the lower fenders right behind the front wheels.Neither the heat nor AC are connected currently. For the heat you'll need to plumb the ford heater hoses to the BMW heater core - this was something that I never got it.The exhaust is just a factory e30 single pipe exhaust so you'll want a more free flowing set-up let it breath better.

Included in the Sale:

·All AC components to connect the Ford AC compressor to the BMW system

·Dakota Digital tach signal converter

·Full 1986 BMW e30 wiring schematic binder

·Terms of Sale:No Reserve, highest bidder takes it no matter what the price. Please ask any questions before you bid.Full payment in cash due within 7-days from the end of the auction.I am looking for a hassle free transaction and will provide the buyer the same in return. This has been a great project but it's time to make more room in the garage so happy bidding.
