The M30 engine saw the stock pistons replaced with forged Mahle units as well the addition of two Garrett T25 water-cooled turbochargers. With a Bosch adjustable boost controller mounted within the driver's reach, the peak horsepower output is rated at 360 horsepower. Alpina modified the suspension with stiffer springs and anti-roll bars. Bilstein shocks are used on front and automatic-load leveling units by Fictel & Sachs are used in the rear. Front brake rotors were also upgraded to large 13.1-inch discs which were even larger than the 12.8-inch pieces found on the E34 M5.
