Description:

1935 BMW Other 319 Sport Cabriolet

1935 BMW 319 Sport Cabriolet A unique and historic car, his 80 year old BMW 319 Sport Cabriolet was delivered in March, 935 to the Auto-Haus Jakobi BMW dealership in Nurnberg, ermany.

It is 1 of 238 of the 319 model Sport Cabriolets built, aking it a rare and desirable automobile.

Total production of the 319 models, ncluding sedans, -seat cabriolets, 91/1 and other models was less than 6700 units from 1935 to 1937.

BMW Factory archives indicate that this car was originally painted black and ‘Fish’ silver. The car has a Jaeger clock and an opening for another gauge to be mounted in the glove box door. There are front fender-mounted lights, ut no trafficators have been found on the body.

It is one of the earliest examples of the BMW cabriolet, s BMW only began building cars of their own design in the early 1930’s. This cars had one of the most renown of the famous BMW engines, he 2 liter straight-6, hich powered many sports and race cars to victory over the next three decades.

This particular car has lived an interesting life and has been christened “The Bullet-Hole BMW”. In the photo of the spare wheel can be seen a large caliber bullet hole, ext to one of the wheel rivets. Who knows what situation caused this car to be hit by a large caliber bullet. Will removing the paint reveal other wounds suffered in World War II?

Unfortunately, ost-war owners made modifications to the chassis, ody, nterior, nd replaced the engine and transmission. These changes weren’t of the highest quality or done with proper engineering and will need to be reworked to return the car to original.

The vehicle is being sold where is, s is, ithout guarantee or warranty. It comes with a clear title from the state of Tennessee.

Included in the sale will be copies of the research documents and photographs that I’ve gathered on the car. This will be limited to the information provided by the BMW factory archives and outside sources and will not include my personal notes, ideos and photographs to which I retain the rights. My articles, tories, logs, ommentaries, ideos and photographs, nd all rights to them and any future work in any media are not included in the sale of the car. I am open to working with the next owner on continuing my documentation of the history of this car.

My research into this car’s background continues to this day, s I have written articles, hot videos and photographs of the car from the day that I purchased it over 12 years ago. I have restored many vehicles in my life and hate to part with this vehicle, ut it's time for someone else to take on this project.

This car has the same chassis as the famous BMW 328 sports cars. A buyer could decide to build a 328-type replica based on this chassis. There are sources for new 328 style bodies and trim in Europe.
