1974 BMW 2002

Time to move my Tii to another owner. I have only owned it for a little over a year and have done just minor sorting on it. You cannot duplicate this for what I will sell it for. Most of the work has been done by previous owners. This is the history of it as it was given to me.

I am owner #5. It was a California car from at least 1979 til 2001. In 2001 was bought by a Connecticut enthusiast with 145k (172K now) on it and he did a 2 1/2 years rehab on the car. This is what he did:

Chassis and Interior: Rota panasport rims, Recaro seats ( have originals), Chassis totally rebuilt, poly bushings, all bearings and brake lines. 530i master cylinder, 320i rear drums, rebuilt Tii struts, new rotors, calipers, bilstein springs, TEP rear battery holder/strut brace, BMP front brace.

Drivetrain: I have original injected engine. Engine in the car is a balanced/blueprinted 2.2L M10 with euro Tii pistons, all new OEM internals, Metric Mechanic free flow head with a Shrick 284 cam, Weber 38/38 carb with Cannon manifold, Petronix ignition, Ingram radiator, Aardvark Racing 5 speed conversion with short shift kit from a 1980 320i 5 speed. Work done by J & R Auto Machining In Putnam CT. in May 2003. Limited slip 3:91 from 320 is.

All this work was done by others. Since I have had it I changed all of the fluids adjusted and tightened driveshaft, adjusted the valves, and did a compression check on June 2017 #1 170, #2 165, #3 165, #4 170.

The car is a high quality driver. Paint is not perfect. Friend I bought the car from painted the blue to mimic the 1973 TAP Portugal rally winner. There is overspray. Bright work is dinged. This would need to be addressed to bring it to the next level. I really have not used it much but when I have they have be 100-150 mile treks. I have had no issues.
