This BMW 2002 Turbo with VIN 4290248 was built on 14-3-1974 and delivered on 20-03-1974 to BMW Dealer Wedel in Bochum, Germany. Very rare are the options on this Turbo: 5-speed sport Gearbox (Dogleg, tinted glass, a sliding metal roof and the Recaro S seats.
Probably less than 10 % of the 1672 produced 2002 Turbo’s have been fitted with a sliding roof and/or the 5-speed gearbox. It doesn’t get any rarer than this.
Absolutely magnificent original 2002 Turbo. First deliverd in Germany. Recently this car was completly rebuilt by is. We put it lot’s of effort and money to restore this Turbo to like-new condition! Everything was done with extreme care, eye for detail and skill. Really a masterpiece and the best one on the market today.
Unique. The car has a low mileage and was stored dry for many years in the warm Portugal. The completely original metal is in a sublime condition. Original front, fenders, doors etc. etc. The car was painted completely: inside, outside, underside. This was done professionally and flawless without any imperfections. Trim like rubbers, lights, chrome, bumpers, grilles, fittings are all new! The car gives a like-new impression!
The original matching numbers engine was rebuilt and all systems have been renewed or rebuilt. Ignition system, Injection system, cooling system everything was redone. All fluids, filters, gaskets, bearings and seals are new.
The front and rear axles have been rebuilt as well. All bushings and bearings are new. 4 brand new Bilstein shocks have been fitted. The braking system is new as well. All new cylinders, hoses, brakelines etc. The locking differential was rebuilt as well. The car sits on 4 freshly restored Turbo-wheels with brand new tires.
The interior is very, very original. Original Recaro S seats. Dash (not cracked etc) with the Turbo instruments and of course the 2002 Turbo specific extra instruments on the dash. Carpets and headliner, door trim in perfect and original condition.
The car comes with the original toolset, instruction manual, extra ‘Turbo’ instruction manual and of course a BMW Classic Certificate for this car.
