1953 Bentley Other

NO RESERVE AUCTION!!!
I am selling this 1953 Bentley R-Type for my father. He purchased this car in the1970s and is the 2nd owner of this car. It was only driven on weekends and in nice weather. When I was a little kid, remember going for rides in the car with my dad. It floats down the highway and is a solid, lean, nd reliable car.
You will not bedisappointed with the mechanical condition of our Bentley. Many thousands ofdollars were spent on the car including: engine rebuild, ew leather interior, e-chroming the exterior trim, ew exhaust system, rakes, tc. No expense was ever spared on this car; my fatherbabied this car. After all this work was done to the car, nbsp;approximately 20 years ago, e parked the car in the garage and it has not been driven since that day. It is a 20 year (dirty) time capsule. My parents are now moving into a condo, rom a house with a garage, nd, nfortunately, ur Bentley has to go.
We did not want to risk any damage to the motor by attempting to start the car. Once you receive the vehicle, recommend that the winner of this auction should drain and change all fluids before attempting to start the car. When I opened the hood to take the photos for this auction, was shocked by how clean the motor is: you could eat food off the motor.
When last driven, here were no problemsstarting the car with both the hand-crank and electric starter. This sale includes many (or all?) of the original tools - even the jack and spare.
The chrome is very shiny. In the photos you can see the mirror finish area next to the dirty chrome area. This shiny finish for the photo came through the dirt after just 30 seconds of massaging the metal with rubbing compound and water.
The paint is 35 years old; it looks quite presentable until you get up close and notice the blemishes. You candrive it as is and would not beembarrassed. Because the color is white, he flaws are not apparent until quite near to the car. It's a 10-footer. A repaint would really make the car look sharp, hough. I could not find any rust or blistering on the body or frame, side from the minor surface rust that is barelynoticeable in the photos.
The wood looks very very good to my untrained eye; I am confident that you will not bedisappointed. It is the original wood. The leather seats and carpeting were new 25 years ago. The car still has that awesome Connolly leather smell. Like the chrome, he surface dirt on the leather, hat is seen in the photos, ipes off with alittle bit of rag work and elbow grease. We have lost the folder with the receipts for the work listed above (and more work!), ut when you see the car, otor and interior, he strong condition and potential of this car is easily apparent. You candefinitely tell that the motor is clean and rebuilt, nd the interior was redone.
Please note: I am trying to bevery transparent in the photos and description regarding the condition of the car. You don't want surprises and I don't want surprises. This is a great car.
If we had the time, e would do the minor repairs listed above and could easily bring the car todrivable condition, owever, he new buyers of my parents' house have a short timeline to closing. So, e need to sell this car that has been a part of our family for decades. The 70810 mileage is real and the title is clean, lear, nd in hand.
This car is sold as-is where is. We can help with coordinating shipment and are available for inspections.Vehicle is located in Edison, J USA.
