This is aNO RESERVEauction, ighest bidder owns this rare car!
This is a true rare find and a collectors car!
Only 350 were shipped to the USA between 1949 and 1952, ith only 30 known to remain!
After World War II, ritain’s motor industry was devoted mostly to export, n order to acquire the sought-after U.S. dollar. Austin’s A40 Devon and Dorset models were doing quite well in parts of the U.S. and were in fact the best-selling imports in most years until 1952. Austin’s chairman Leonard Lord sought to increase this market share and told his designers to come up with a larger convertible that would appeal to wealthy Americans. The result was the A90 Atlantic.
In 1948, he Austin Motor Company of England introduced the Austin A90 Atlantic to the American market to compete with Cadillac and high end cars.
As you can see in the pics, here was a battery fire and the hood was damaged.Have a man in California that has a good hood and hiscontactinformation will be available to buyer of car.Other than a little paint peeling in cowl area and a busted windshield (which are available), here is no other body damage or rust on the vehicle.
Car has been stored inside for the last eleven years, ince the damage. I've realized that I'm never going to get to restore it, o its time to let someone else! This is one of those 'once-in-a-lifetime' kinda cars!
The following items have been added/modified from original making it much more serviceable and derivable:

  • GM V6 motor (size and year unknown, upposed tohave lowmiles but I have never heard it run or tried to start it)
  • GM automatic transmission
  • 8.8 Ford disc brake rear end
  • Frontdisc brakes
  • Power steering
  • Power brakes
  • All hubs modified to accept original wheels to maintain the factory look

You won't find many of these still around, specially in this condition.

Good Texas title.
