Description:

1954 Austin Healey 100-4 1954 AUSTIN HEALEY 100-4 BN-1 ROADSTER.

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this exciting California barn find, early BN-1 car #1813, most likely produced during 1953. This original car was just discovered in a barn in Northern California and sold to us by a local fireman there. This car shows only 66,371 miles which could very well be original to the car, as it had been in storage from the late 60's/early 70's. The car still retains it's original CA title from 1963 with it's black/yellow plates listed on it. This early car still retains it's rare two-piece dashboard, matching numbers aluminum hood, low cut-out front wheelarchs, being one of the first 2000 Austin-Healeys produced. The body on this car is decent for it's age. The front and rear shrouds, which are of most importance, are in very good condition overall with an excellent fitting grille. The car could use some typical lower repairs to the front fenders, rockers, doglegs, inner rockers. Underneath, the car's chassis frame and outriggers look quite solid and it still retains it's original floors. The trunk lid was changed at one point. The car appears to retain all of it's other original body panels. This car's drivetrain, looking from underneath, looks completely untouched and original, as one would guess it's never been removed from the car. It still retains its early mechanical clutch/pedal parts, undisturbed, along with original hoses, lines, clips and clamps, electrical parts, etc.The car still has a lot of it's important parts vital for restoration including it's original trafficator and steering wheel, top frame (still with it's original grey top fitted!), dashboard and original instruments, windshield assembly, very nice grille, bumper set with overriders, cockpit surrounds, etc. and even it's original Dunlop Gold Seal spare tire. The car's matching numbers engine appears to be stuck from sitting. The car still retains it's correct and original 3-speed gearbox. The original factory color scheme of this car would be quite attractive as Spruce Green with a light grey/beige interior, with a matching soft top.Overall, a well-preserved original CA car that has never been apart for restoration. This solid early Big Healey is a rare offering and would make a fantastic car once restored and returned to it's original factory livery from 65 years ago!
