1958 Austin Healey Other

This exceptionally swell Big Healey has been my (more or less) daily driver for three years to and from home to my studio. Aside from being one of the most gorgeous body styles ever penned, he Healey is a powerful weapon and passes bewildered modern motorists with alacrity (thanks in large part to its 29D engine from a 1960 3000 mark 1–engine number is #29D RU/H24535, ith 124 hp/162 foot-pounds torque. The early 100/6 engine had 2.6 liters, nd 102 HP/142 foot-pounds of torque). I have been told it was once a trackday machine and have enjoyed passing on this story to the public. All gears and overdrive work very well--the tune the engine produces is sublime.
Paint is quite good, lovely deep and proper BRG. The car underwent restoration some years ago before my tenure, nd has new carpet, eats, nd other items in the cockpit, nd new carpet in the boot. I have put in a new gas tank, ending unit, uel pump, istributor, nd hoses, s well as a new battery. I myself am far to tall to drive with the top up, ut it is present, long with plastic side-curtains, nd aniftytonneau cover. The car has no rear seats (really, hy on earth would it?), nstead featuring the much more useful cargo shelf (which can comfortably hold more than a dozen bottles of Beefeater and several more of Moet (although it can certainly hold other brands as required).
The shop I purchased it from had done a bit of work on the outriggers, utting out some old elements and welding in the new--I defy any one at your country club or the doorman at your girlfriend's apartment to spot the new bits. Wheels are new-ish 60 spoke affairs, nd there is even a rubber mallet in the boot should you decide to pretend to change your own tires before AAA appears. Moto-Lita steering wheel feels very properly weighted under driving gloves of various imports.
I will include an unused picnic bar setup in fitted leather case--the gift of a girlfriend I would rather have nomementosfrom--may it bring you many sunny afternoons of happiness.
