1993 Aston Martin Virage Volante Widebody --

1993 ASTON MARTIN VIRAGE VOLANTE WIDEBODY --Special Order Rolls Royce Racing Green with Rolls Royce Champagne leather interior piped Spruce Green, Rolls Royce Sahara Beige carpeting, Fawn Mohair convertible top, 6,000 miles from new, 4-speed Automatic transmission. Designed by John Heffernan and Ken Greeley, the Aston Martin Virage made its debut at the Birmingham Motor Show in 1988. It was praised for its fresh contemporary styling and was a quieter and more civilized approach to that of the earlier Aston V8's. It...was the first truly new Aston Martin in nearly 20 years and the new V8 engine was a development of the tried and tested 5.3 liter V8, but with new designed cylinder heads, featuring four valves per cylinder. Sports Car International praised the "eager and quicker revving" nature of the 330hp engine, with its Callaway-designed heads and Weber-Marelli fuel injection. "Acceleration just never seems to run out" they concluded. The Virage Volante debuted at the 1990 Birmingham Motor Show as a strict two-seater, but a 2+2 version was shown at the 1991 Geneva Motor Show. Production numbers are estimated to be between 224 and 233 examples by the time production ended in 1996. The Wide Body conversion by Aston Martin Works Service became available for the Volante during 1992, which included the “Cosmetic Widebody” consisting of the wide body conversion with larger front air dam and larger OZ Racing split rim wheels. This example is 1 of only 13 Widebody Volantes imported to the USA making it extremely rare. It has recently been serviced throughout and fitted with a sport exhaust. It is complete with all books, tools and service records from new.
