Description:

1962 AMC 400

1962 Rambler American 400 convertible project. This car is a good start to a very unique and cool car. It has had some quarter repairs done and they were done right. The paint is heavily oxidized and is currently in patina finish quality. The paint is cracking up on the trunk and there looks to be some older putty repairs on dents but from what I can see the body is pretty solid considering this cars age. There are some small rust issues underneath I could see a few pin holes in the trunk pan and some spots in the rear rails will need boxed.
The fuel pump is not pumping fuel at the moment but the engine fired right up after dumping some fuel down the carb. The link to the video of the engine running can be seen here. -->https://youtu.be/PVkyRzKpH8Y
I am currently hunting down another fuel pump and will include it if found before the car sells.
The car's soft parts are brittle and I would recommend replacing them as far as belts, hoses, suspension, and steering go. The top is brittle also but would most likely last this season of driving once the other parts are reinstalled. The interior is filthy from sitting and having some of the piping fold up on the seat edges.
The car comes with the following parts ready to be installed.
Re-Cored Radiator
Heater core
Blower motor assembly
Cleaned fuel tank with new fuel level sender
Rear Bumper
Dash parts
Fender Badges
Side trim pieces with new mounting clips
All in all this is a very cool piece of AMC history and worth someone's time to return to the road.
