1974 AMC Gremlin X

Here is my beloved 1974 AMC Green Gremlin X that I have purchased from the original owner here in California several years ago. This car was pampered by the first owner and was rarely driven the 35k miles are all original Original green paint and original Blue and yellow California plates This Gremlin runs GREAT shifts great stops even better A/C blows cold with original R132 freon that was fully recharged. I always wanted to have a green Gremlin and finally some years ago I ran into the perfect candidate I have been looking for a 74 and up since that's when they started putting impact bumpers in 74 The bumpers were moved away from the body and by taking off the bumpers it leaves the car exactly how it was originally designed leaving no mounting indentations except for the shock absorber holes where I retrofitted turn signal lenses on it One of the first things i did after I bought this Gremlin was take front and rear bumpers off Leaving the famous AMC big wide rear of the car free of any obstructions. I then put magnum 500 wheels 15x10 and very beefy tires I have 15x7 wheels in the front with smaller profile tires This Gremlin came originally with front drum brakes which were not efficient so after several trips to the junkyard I finally got lucky and took front disc brakes from a 1975 Pacer with Bendix later model calipers which are the most desirable. I ordered a brand new power booster and mounted it the tricky thing was brake hoses which after an extensive research found the best fit for it (1970 Camaro) The break system works fantastic! I always wanted my Gremlin to look like a Hootwheels toy car So in order to accommodate those large 15x10 rear wheels I had to go for very tall and stiff rear shocks shackles and massive spacers under the leaf springs Not an easy task try to find what would fit the best but in time it paid off. Once that dilemma was solved I purchased a rear anti sway bar that fit like a glove But it would be the front sway bar that would give me a numerous amount of problems The thickest sway I believe the 1 inch thick bar sold by Jegs will not fit will hit the front pitarm and if you try to make it fit you would end up modify parts of the undercarriage which I was not ready for that rodeo the 3/4 inch bar sold by jegs works perfectly The biggest dilemma was the front sway bar brackets which are very much different than any brackets available at any store I tried to make some aftermarket set fit and I went thru hell and back with accomplishing just more problems and after hours of brainstorming and metal plates and fabrications the best solutions was to find a set of original brackets from another car The bracket holes are already in the car and if you have a Gremlin and you want to make fit a pair of aftermarket brackets by drilling new holes into the chassis I would discourage to do so. In time I ran into a good set of original brackets from another Gremlin and they fit perfectly After the front and rear sway bars dilemma was solved the new challenge was mounting an AMC hood tach which was nothing compare to the sway bars The hood hump is just for looks The floor shifter has a hurst aluminum billet pistol grip both driver side and passenger side chrome mirrors are non remote The original remote driver side mirror is saved in a box and comes with the car Windshield wipers and antenna have been taken off and put in the trunk area because the car is never driven when its raining and because I do not like any obstructions of the body lines....I know I am weird like that. a brand new set of side stripes are included gold color the same as in the back I have been reluctant to have them put on since none is giving me guarantee that will not damage the original paint trying to take the old ones off Radio works A/C blows cold does not smoke not rattles Starts right up needless to say it gets more attentions than Kim Kardashian....some body features are actually very similar. Clear California title in hand under my name The car is currently under non op but I do take it for short drives inside my community I almost forgot this car has a brand new electronic ignition distributor I meticulously installed years ago and works like a dream No leaks of any kind engine oil changed regularly Pampered and loved by the original owner and by me A file filled with old receipts from the previous owner is included I have been asked to have the car in several music videos but never accepted. I ship worldwide and I can coordinate with local shipping company like Titan Ship Schumacher California shipping Rinkens and so on The Gremlin is located inside my home Garage I will only accept a paypal deposit up to $500 the balance must be paid via bank wire or cash in person No cashiers chacks accepted personal checks are accepted after check clears car will be released after 2 additional weeks the clearance of personal check No full paypal payment will be accepted. if you do not have the funds ready do not bid/offer If any questions please contact me via ebay mail or we can speak via phone I will update the auction with more info if any
