1982 Mazda B-Series Pickups

Good-running diesel pickup
From Southeastern Utah, as a lot of red dirt in it and on it. It is a dry area and I didn’t find any serious rust, ust surface rust as seen on the pictures taken underneath it. I traded for it earlier this year. Was a dependable wrecking yard truck for several years. It quit cranking this year and we pull-started it to get it running. Since then we worked on and cleaned up electrical connections and it cranks now.
It runs and drives fine. The diesel motor purrs like a clackity kitten! It has a 5 speed manual transmission that has worked fine for me. I’ve only driven it 10 miles or so around here because it is not registered.
12/16/15 it started right up with a shot of starting fluid. It was about 9 degrees the night before and in the 20s when I started it. I plugged in the block heater to warm it up and after an hour it didn’t start so used the fluid. I hadn’t started it in several weeks. I don’t know if the glow plugs work. When warm it re-started fine w/o the fluid.
The odometer says 149,911 miles and works so I imagine those are the actual miles.
The only thing I could get to work (sort of) on the dash was the throttle. When pulled it revs the engine but it slowly get sucked back in. Vice grips would fix that but it idles fine w/o it so I didn’t do anything with it.
Oh, he windshield isn’t even cracked, ll the glass is good. As you can see, he body is dented up. The hood doesn’t close right but does latch.
In Norwood, olorado. 100 miles east of Moab, tah, 25 miles south of Grand Junction, olorado.
Clear Utah title.
12/17/15 - I went into Wikipedia and under "Mazda B-series" it says for 1982 the diesel was a Perkins S2, 209 cc, 9 hp.
12/18/15 - I looked at the odometer again, t is 149911, 00 miles > what I first reported. Also color updated to BrownGrayBlueGreen.
12/19/15 - Yesterday I plugged the block heater in for 2-1/2 hours then started it w/o starting fluid. It was 30-some degrees out. Took it for a 2 mile drive and thru all the gears. Uphill I got to about 45 mph/downhill about 65. We're at 7000' elevation, t would do better in the lowlands. It drove fine. The right rear signal light works and both sides work on the instrument panel, ut none of the rest. A friend said his friend has a boat with this motor in it in Mexico and really likes the low fuel consumption.
