Do you know what a Buick Grand National is? Well this is the one that started it all.Got a really cool offer with a ton of potential!

It’s a78 Buick Regal Sport Coupe Turbo Limited.1978 is the very first year Buick came out with the ever famous Turbo 3.8 V6. Very rare and expensive when restored.

Here’s the full rundown on the car.It has literally been sitting in a barn for several years. So it’s in excellent shape for its age.

Title is missing (EBay wouldn’t give me that option).I have a bill of sale from the guy before.

I talked to the Washington State DOL.They ran the vin and it’s clear of the system.

All that needs to be done is for the State Patrol to inspect the vin and vehicle. Then Washington State DOL issues a “Title In Doubt”.That’s good for 3 years, then a permanent title is issued.

The car can then be registered and bought/sold during the 3 yr period just like a normal titled car. (Please note: Other states may vary in policy and procedure concerning a missing title).

The passenger side is really good.Just one small surficial rust spot forming where the vinyl top meets the body.Doesn’t go through so could be easily patched.

Drivers side has a little damage starting behind the drivers door.Someone must have dragged it along something at one point.Has a couple of surficial rust spots, but nothing all the way through, so it’ll need some patch work too.

Missing the valancethat goes between the rear bumper and body.Trunk is aluminum (they did this on the performance Regals for weight reduction) and in great shape.

Front has a cracked light and small crack in the grill. Also missing hood ornament.

Vinyl top is in surprisingly good condition. One small rust spot forming where it meets the trunk.

Drivers front wheel has a ding in it (that can be repaired).Other original Buick rally wheels (which are pricey) are in good shape.

Engine top end was partially disassembled years ago.Turbo and miscellaneous piping etc are off and in the trunk.New (remanufactured) turbo is in the trunk and ready to go.Distributor and Carb are gone (which isn’t necessarily bad as the 1978 model was the only year to come with a 2bbl carb. All years after that went to a 4bbl carb and then eventually to fuel injection with the Grand National. Many people like to upgrade this to the 4bbl or even fuel injection).

Interior is in good shape.Needs a vacuum and possibly a shampoo but good to go.Headliner is sagging a bit.

All in all it’s a really neat project with tons of potential.Good condition Sport Coupe Turbos are literally selling in the $25k - $30k range.Just not something I have the time or know how for at the moment.

Car is sold “as is” with no guarantees or warranties expressed or implied.

Delivery may be possible with verified purchase and additional delivery fee.
