This 1961 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is very original and would be considered a great survivor car with all the very expensive mechanical work being replaced or reconditioned in 2016/2017 timeframe to the original exact standards for this car in 1961 315 HP Corvette . I got the car off my good friend that had the car since 1987.

This car is powered by a matching fuel-injected 283/315 HP casting number 3756519 date code "D71" paired with a Borg Warner T 10 original close ratio four-speed manual transmission.

The last 6 numbers 108674/F0417 CS on the engine pad match those at the end of the car’s serial number exactly. The suffix on this engine block pad “CS” indicates that this engine block was slated for a 315-horsepower fuel-injected 1961 Corvette with a manual transmission. Based on the car serial number this 1961 Corvette was originally built in the month of May 1961.

The Corvette is finished in the original colors of Roman Red with Ermine white coves over a black vinyl interior. The body and chassis are in very good clean original condition as shown. no rust issues.

The car in photos looks great and has won many local shows. But paint up close shows some older/patina. It does have some chips, fading. and imperfections.

I believe the paint/body on the car is mostly original with some spot in work and touch ups over the years. I believe the roof paint is original also but was never on the car until 2017.

The entire engine was professionally rebuilt /restored to exact stock specifications in 2016/2017. I have detailed invoices on this including 3782461 date C281 / 461X big valve heads, Correct 315HP Solid camshaft OEM, fully balanced ect. In addition to the engine being professionally rebuilt the entire exhaust was replaced/reconditioned with correct parts, and the entire fuel injection unit was professionally restored.

The engine starts comes up on fast idle and then when warm, idles perfectly. The FI engine revs as the vehicle did when it was new. The 283ci FI small-block V8 was rated for 315 horsepower when new.

The Rochester fuel injection part number 7017320 was rebuilt in 2017 by Jerry Bramlett of Mobile, Alabama IN. Since then it was always run on ”non ethanol” fuels to make sure the fuel injection system has no issues runs perfectly.

The Borg warner casting T10-1B transmission and clutch have been refurbished and clutch replaced also in the 2016/2017 timeframe.

Also the original vehicle generator, battery, steering box, drag linkage, brake master cylinder, entire dual exhaust system, and rubber brake hoses have been serviced or replaced at that time. The factory and drum brakes have been serviced/serviced in 2016/2017 timeframe.

This Corvette offered comes with both (2 tops) and comes with a white soft top and red removable hardtop as shown, and a clean Pennsylvania title with miles that are exempt.

Instrumentation with chrome bezels includes a correct 160-mph speedometer and a smooth working 7k-rpm tachometer along with gauges for monitoring fuel level, water temperature, amperage, and oil pressure.

The close ratio Borg warner four-speed manual transmission directs power through the correct dated original rear differential with posi 3.70:1 gear
