1971 Chevrolet Camaro SS 454 Tribute

This 1971 Chevrolet Camaro SS Tribute stuffs more big block power under the hood than even Chevy dared. But this is about more than just brutal speed. As you dig a little deeper, you'll see that it has been upgraded to not only handle the power, but also give you greater comfort.
The legend is that Chevy was about to offer the 454 cubic-inch big block in the 2nd gen Camaro, but then yanked this ultra-high performance setup at the last minute. This custom build rectifies that. So as you look over the whole car it gives you plenty of signs it's a big power machine. This includes the chin spoiler, full-width rear spoiler, dual black racing stripes, and a lightweight fiberglass hood with extra-tall cowl. And the upgraded split-bumper RS front end give this grille the wide look like it wants to inhale the other cars in its way. The color is a nice and deep red. We won't pretend the finish is perfect. It actually goes nicely with the car's street bruiser performance image that should appeal to those who drive their muscle cars. And everyone else will see the value price as an opportunity to invest in giving this custom Camaro even more personal style.
The black accenting on the exterior also is a nice preview of the full black interior. You get the correct high-backed bucket seats, which debuted for the 1971 model year. They were redone as part of an older restoration, and they still look nice, right down to the correct button-top presentation. There are other nice pieces, like the armrest center console and provisions for R134a air conditioning (likely just needs a recharge to blow cold again.) But this isn't just a coddler; there's plenty to give you the tingle of performance. Your left hand will love the grip of the Lecarra steering wheel, and your right one may never want to leave the B&M T-bar shifter. The carbon fiber dash panel showcases a full set of professional grade AutoMeter Pro-Comp Ultra-Lite gauges.
Chevy could have offered the big 454 cubic-inch V8 back in the 1970s, and how nicely this one fits in the engine bay proves it. Those bright 454 valve covers even proudly announce it. While there's no replacement for added displacement, this special build goes further. It has performance upgrades like aluminum heads, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and long tube headers that let this exhale with a sweet rumble out of the H-pipe dual exhaust. The 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission is the right mix that gives you a stout construction and better gears to utilize the power-band (and the overdrive is handy, too.) As you look underneath, you're going to see nice upgrades like a thick front sway bar, subframe connectors, and rear traction bars. Plus, there's power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and wide performance tires on those polished 17-inch American Racing Torq Thrusts wheels.
Complete with service manual, build receipts and maintenance records, this is a 2nd gen Camaro with the legendary spilt bumper look and the kind of power it was always supposed to have. So don't miss this true muscle car hero. Call today!!!
