Porsche launched the 911 in 1965 and although it had yet to become a class-leading icon, the 911 was rather expensive. Porsche expanded their market by offering the same body style, but with a 4-cylinder engine which Porsche could sell as their entry level model, known as the 912. The 912 had less power than the 911, however it carried less weight and remained a well-balanced car with excellent road manners. Porsche offered the 912 with standard 4 or optional 5 speed manual transmission, this particular 912 received the optional 5 speed. 1969 marked the final year of the 912 model (with exception to the 1 year only 912E of 1976). The 1969 912 followed the 911 chassis adding more than two inches to the wheelbase (now considered the LWB cars). Other refinements included flared wheel arches, improved ventilation, electric defrost, revised dashboard gauges and an improved electrical system. Produced in January of 1969, this 912 Coupe has been immaculately restored with no stone left unturned. It has since been shown at various Porsche concours events with a recent judged score of 295.1 out of 300. This 912 in its original livery of Champagne Yellow over Black is immaculate in every way. While in its previous Porsche collector ownership, this 912 has been enjoyed on long rallies and tours within the United States. It has performed superbly through every event. This 912 offers zero disappointments and includes books, tools, jack, spare wheel and records. It is ready for immediate enjoyment and eligible for numerous vintage rallies and concours events.
