1966 Shelby Cobra “Shell Valley Cobra, 429CID engine, well sorted, ready to go!!”

VIN OH5738992

The car on offer is this 1966 427 Cobra replica built by Shell Valley. The car was built in 1992 and is registered as such (it has a clean CT registration). It has a mildly built 429 CID engine and a C6 automatic transmission. This car was built over 25 years ago, was off the road for over 10 years and was recently recommissioned at a cost of more than $5600. The service includes, but is not limited to the following;

  • New Battery

  • Carburettor rebuild

  • All fluids changed including oil, brake fluid, coolant and rear end oil

  • New Water pump

  • Timing chain replacement

  • New harmonic balancer

  • Transmission service and reseal

  • New rear main seal engine

  • R&R brakes front and rear

  • New lower control arm

  • Front end alignment

The engine is a Ford 429 cid with 460 heads and a mild cam. It starts easily and has A LOT of horsepower and torque. This is a powerful, good running and driving car. The brakes (9”discs in front, drums in back), while adequate, could use an upgrade with the addition of a power assist and bigger rotors and calipers. The front suspension is from a Mustang II with a rack and pinion steering. It has a Ford C6 automatic transmission. The rear end is a Ford with adjustable coil over shocks. The kit was manufactured by Shell Valley and parts are still available. The car is registered as a 1992 Cobra. Please make sure that the car can be legally registered in your state BEFORE bidding. It has a convertible soft top and side curtains. The car runs very well and is VERY fast. The brakes could use an upgrade.
