1991 Toyota Land Cruiser HZJ75 Troop Carrier "Troopy"

Price: - Item location: Tallahassee, Florida, United States
Description:

1991 Toyota Land Cruiser

You are bidding on a 1991 Toyota Land Cruiser HZJ75 Troop Carrier ("Troopy”). This is a rare Troopy due to its condition and very low mileage. As of now, the Troopy's mileage sits at 30,570 km's or 18,995 miles.I have never seen another narrow-nose Troopy with less than 100,000 km's and very few with less than 200,000 km's. The Troopy was owned and operated at an Australian airport for the first 25 years of it's life and that is the reason for the low mileage. This engine does not smoke and starts up immediately after the glow-plugs warm up. Also, the Troopy does not burn oil or leak oil - or any fluid for that matter.

I have added a number of photos on the ebay listing. I also have a google photo link that I can share (I tried to add to this description but Ebay did not like that).

I can also take any additional pictures necessary for interested bidders.

The Troopy is right-hand drive and has the Toyota H55F 5-speed transmission. In addition, this particular Troopy came with factory air conditioning and it works great. While this truck originated in Australia, it is a 12 volt electrical system just like your typical US vehicle.

The Troopy's exterior paint is in great condition. The paint shines very well and there are no dents or dings present. There are some very fine scratches here and there from forest roads and trails - some of them came with the truck others were added by having fun. I'm hopeful the new owner will add to them as well. I currently have the hood wrapped in matte black vinyl. The paint underneath is in excellent condition and the only reason for the wrap is due to glare.

The Troopy has brown interior and is generally all original. All trim pieces are present and everything works as it should. These models feature manual door locks and manual windows so there are no motors to worry about replacing. The doors lock as they should and the windows roll up and down smoothly. I also recently replaced all of the door weatherstripping (driver, passenger and both rear doors) with new Toyota OEM parts. In addition, I have all new OEM Toyota weatherstripping to replace the side sliding windows - as well as numerous belts/hose and other miscellaneous spare parts that will transition to the new owner.

The Troopy has front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. The brakes were serviced prior to traveling to the Southeast 70 Series Meet and Greet in East Tennessee (September 2018). There are no issues with the brake system and I put approximately 1,200 miles on the Troopy with no issues during that trip.

The Troopy has been maintained by a local mechanic who specializes in Toyota diesel engines and 70 series Land Cruisers. I am happy to put an interested bidder in contact for further details.

This is a factory 3-seat Troopy. This means the Troopy came from the factory with the front 60/40 split bench andnorear seats or rear seat belt hardware. While these items could be added, this version is very popular as the back is perfect for a camping setup. The rear of the Troopy is a blank slate for the new owner. You could build something elaborate with pull-out drawers, kitchen etc. Or you could keep it minimal as I have done through my ownership. It is very easy to camp in the back as it is now. I have been using an Exped sleeping pad and there is plenty of room.

This particular Land Cruiser has been lovingly cared for by myself - and apparently by its previous owners as well. I have always kept it inside my garage or warehouse - both are climate controlled. I have yet to find any evidence of rust on this vehicle and have tried to take as many photos necessary to document the condition. I am available to take additional photos if necessary.

I would not hesitate to drive this Land Cruiser across the country tomorrow. So why am I selling? I have several Land Cruisers and always have my eye on something else. I am just not at a place in my life where I can use the Troopy the way it was built it to be used. In short, I need to clear out some room for my next 70 series Land Cruiser. I have a clear Florida title in my name that will transfer to the new owner.

The winning bidder must pay a $1,500 non-refundable deposit within 48 hours following the auction conclusion. In addition, full payment must be made within seven (7) days after the auction closes. I will accept a cashiers check, bank wire, or cash. If you need to finance this vehicle please make sure that is lined up PRIOR TO BIDDING IN THIS AUCTION.

The winning bidder is also responsible for shipping the Troopy. I have shipped many vehicles myself and can assist with introductions to vehicle transport companies. I am also happy to pick you up at the Tallahassee airport if you desire to fly in and drive home.
