Description:

1963 Chevrolet Impala

In April of 1963 a lady in Portland Oregon purchased this Impala Sport Coupe brand new as her daily driver and for the next nineteen years she kept her “baby” in meticulous condition. She sold it locally in 1982. The new owner was a knowledgeable Impala collector and he set about adding a number of correct, ostly NOS options including but not limited to power brakes, ruise control, ower seat, ear window defroster, M/FM radio, ompass, our way flasher, acuum trunk release, ront and back full width floor mats, eat belts, nd front and rear bumper guards and (fourteen) others. When I purchased the car in December 1989 the mileage was 41,000 miles, t is now 45923. This car has always been garaged.
There have been two small areas of body damage that were repaired, door ding behind the driver’s door and a small dent on the top right side of the trunk lid. The front antenna hole was welded over and a rear antenna added. There have been no other repairs and the whole body is totally rust free.
Over the years some items have been replaced because of normal wear and safety concerns. Included are the five tires replaced with the optional size 800x14 Coker bias ply, our shock absorbers replaced with Delco spirals, op and bottom radiator hoses, an and power steering belts, our new brake cylinders, uffler and tailpipe. The current battery is an aftermarket but an original Delco tar top is available for show. The powerglide transmission has been serviced. The engine has not been opened as there has been no need.
All the original dated coded glass is intact along with the original trim, rille, ear trunk pan, ront and rear bumpers.
The interior is exceptional and everything works although at times the clock has a mind of its own. No rips or tears in the upholstery and the headliner and sail panels are tight with no wrinkles.
The trunk has the factory spatter finish, long with the original foam backed mats, nd trunk light.
Undercarriage;
The pictures will speak for themselves but it is rare to see the underside primer paint so clean along with the correct factory undercoating that is seldom ever duplicated even by high dollar restorers. This car has the Chevrolet tubular frame and the factory paint marks are clearly visible on the driveshaft and coil springs.
In November 2014 this car was shipped to Chicago to undergo vintage certification at the MCACN convention and received a Heritage certification. At this convention it was parked next to the 11.4 mile Impala Sport Coupe that sold at auction in September of 2012 and it was difficult to tell them apart despite a difference of roughly 45890 miles.
Included will be the original bill of sale and the original full wheel covers. With the exception of having to add a new reproduction battery other than the supplied original “show” tar top this car needs absolutely nothing to improve it.
The new owner will have the satisfaction of knowing of the roughly 1,200,000 1963 full size Chevrolets built he will have acquired one of the top original cars with many options that is still remaining in North America and perhaps the world.
I can supply testimonials from a number of the top 1963 experts who have seen the car and can attest to the statements made. Remember, hey are only original once.
