Description:

1965 Ford Mustang

I've decided to sell my Mustang restoration project. I've gotten a good way through the restoration process, so this is an opportunity for someone to pickup the project during the reassembly and maybe save a few dollars on the overall project. Ebay limits the number of photos I can include here, so if you want to see something else or better detail, let me know. I'm glad to take whatever photos you need to see.
The car was built July 6, 1965 in San Jose and sent to Houston. It's an "A" code, so it came with the 289 V8 and 4 barrel carburetor. It also shipped with the manual 4-speed transmission. I have what I believe (based on some date stamps) is the original 4-speed transmission for the car.
I also have the title for the car. It's a clean title that's current.
Somewhere along the line, a previous owner upgraded the 289 to a 302. Not wanting to lose any power in the car after the restoration, I planned to put a 302 back in it. I've got a rebuilt 302 on an engine stand that I'm including with the car. Also, I'm pretty sure that the intake manifold I have is original to the car. Obviously, the engine is not.
All the bodywork for the restoration has been done. I've replaced the rear quarter panels, doors, radiator support, fender aprons, and floor pans. There's no rust, and everything has been primed. The engine compartment and the dash have been painted black.
The reassembly I've done is steering, suspension, gas tank, and I've started running some wiring. I've bought a bunch of parts that I'm including with the car. Some of those parts are:
- SSBC dual bowl disc brake kit (front)
- SSBC disc brake conversion kit (rear)
- Headers
- Front quarter panels that I'm told are from 1965, but I don't believe they are original to the car.
- Front (bucket) and rear seats (white) in excellent condition. Back seat has one minor tear.
- Valve covers
- Air cleaner
- Clutch
- Factory replacement wiring harnesses
- Steering wheel and horn button
- Glove box and door
- Speedometer bezel and lens
- Heater box and fan
- Fuel pump
- Backup light assemblies (with lens and seals)
- Honeycomb grille
- Brake line
- Gas line
- Engine cooling fan
- Radiator
- Various other smaller parts
So there's still some stuff to buy, and it'll need final paint job, but the car is in a good spot to be picked up and put back together.
Like I said, I'm happy to get more photos of anything you want to see. I'm also happy to meet serious buyers for you to see it all yourself. Email me with any questions, and I'll get back to you ASAP.
Also, this is for local pickup only. However you want to get it is fine, multiple trips, whatever. But it'll be your responsibility to come get it. I can help load it, though.
