1979 Pontiac Trans Am Firebird

Up for sale is a very nice1979 Pontiac Trans Am Firebird with the V8 6.6L 403 cu. in. engine, 3-speed automatic transmission, and 75,603 miles that is ready to drive. I drove this car over the summer and it was very reliable and fun to drive. The car is originally from Florida and has been in New York since the restoration. The car has never been driven in the salt and it extremely solid - no bondo was used in the restoration and everything is rock solid (floor pans, frame rails, rockers, body panels, etc). The car was restored about 4 years ago and hasn't had much use since - the previous owner had a lot of work done and never drove it more than 100 miles.
The car was dropped off for restoration at a local shop and they took care of everything that was necessary to make this a great running and driving machine. This includes new brakes in the front and rear, new shocks all the way around, new upholstery & seat foam, new carpeting & interior from original parts, new trim & door seals, freshening up of the motor & seals including painting the motor, new alternator, new water pump, new gaskets & hoses, new Summit exhaust, the transmission was freshened up, new tires, fresh paint and many other checkpoints. After this was all done the car sat for about 4 years so the tires have great tread but are dry-rotted some. The front main seal leaks transmission fluid and I have not gotten around to having it replaced. As you can see in the pictures there are currently no wiper arms on the car but I have a set that will be included with the car. The paint is nice but there are a couple of imperfections - if you would like specific pictures of these feel free to ask - these include a couple of runs and a few wear marks. Currently there isn't a radio or any speakers in the car and I will leave that up to the new owner to have installed. Also, before I got the car someone must have jacked up the car improperly or put the lift arms in the wrong position; along the tunnel the front floor pans are bent up and create a bump in the floor I know is not supposed to be there. I have not tried to correct this but I thought it would be worth noting. Everything functions well including the power windows, power steering, lights, and is mechanically very sound. Overall this is a fine example of a classic Trans Am that I have really enjoyed.
Please look at all of the pictures for closer details and condition. I am selling the car as described, as is, and as seen without a warranty. The buyer is responsible for shipping and pickup. If you would like to come look at the car in person please contact me so that we can arrange a time for you to do so. If you have any questions about the car itself feel free to contact me via direct message or call at (716) 474-0952. I have attempted to represent the car as accurately as possible with the description and the included pictures. Please excuse the snow in the pictures - I wanted to be sure to get pictures of the car before we had snow on the ground and pulled it out yesterday just as it started to come down here in New York. I jacked up the car to try and get the best pictures I could from underneath to show you how solid the car is. If you would like pictures of anything specific please let me know and I will be sure to send you some additional pictures. The title is clear and in hand.
This is a great car and is a very solid running and driving Trans Am - all of the hard work has been done and the car is very enjoyable to drive. Spend some time perfecting a couple more things and you will have a near perfect Trans Am.
I am offering the car for auction without reserve! Thank you and happy bidding!!
