Description:

1974 Porsche 914 Appearance Group Convertible

I bought this 914 from website BringaTrailer in July 2016 and have only put a few hundred miles on it since. I have another 914 that is not original and more daily driver quality so I am selling this one which is fully restored and mostly sits in the garage, It has not been in rain since I bought it and has been stored indoors by the previous owner and myself. Since I bought it, I have replaced the exhaust with a new Monza system, had the clock repaired, replaced the brake light switch, and added Porsche labels to the wheel caps. I also put a small chip in the top of the driver's door (garage boo-boo). Included with the car are a good spare tire and Bilstein jack. License plate is not included; Porsche plate frame is included. This car starts, runs, and shifts great. One point to mention is that it is just a bit cold-blooded for a couple of minutes upon cold startup but it will take off right away nonetheless. The Monza exhaust has a very pleasing tone. A new battery was installed 7/20/2017.
Some of the text below is from the listing on BringaTrailer. Everything the previous owner wrote about the car was accurate, so I hope he does not mind me using some of his words.
This 1974 Porsche 914 is a sharp 2.0L example that received an cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment in 2007 with a color change from Delphi Green to Guards Red and a new interior. Minimal miles have been added since the restoration. Believed to be accident and rust free prior to the refresh, the paint, chrome, trim, and restored Fuchs wheels all present very well. The original 2.0L engine with its fuel injection and 5-speed transmission are in good working order and are believed to have been rebuilt by a previous owner at around 135k miles. Current mileage is 146200. This 914 is sold with binders of records, touch up paint, receipts and photos, an Owner's manual, a Haynes manual for 914s, and a Porsche CoA.
Body gaps are very good with the exception of the rear deck, which sits slightly high on the left side. Remnants of the original green can still be seen on the floors and undercarriage.
The new Guards Red paint looks very nice with minor imperfections and the aforementioned ding that I put in the driver's door. Bumper chrome, rubber, and trim show no significant flaws, though a minor ding can be seen in the rear roof trim.
The interior was redone and is in very good condition. The seats, door panels, headliner, dash face, and carpet all present well with no noticeable flaws. The original spec was brown leatherette with corduroy inserts.
Gauges, switches and other electrics work. A new Alpine head unit and upgraded speakers have been added. Black and red Coco mats are included. Underneath the carpeting are solid floors showing original green paint and no rust.
The fuel injected 2.0L flat-four engine runs well. A previous owner says the engine and transmission were rebuilt at about 135K miles, though there is no receipt. The 5-speed transmission shifts smoothly with good clutch engagement.
The suspension is stock and that the previous owner replaced the brake pads, shocks, and struts. The car handles and rides well, without shakes or rattles.
The Fuchs wheels were refinished by Wheel Enhancement and are wrapped in BF Goodrich 205/50ZR15s.
Undercarriage pictures show an unrestored chassis in very good condition. Battery tray is intact and solid.
I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. I drove it from Connecticut to Ohio with no problems the day I bought it. If you need delivery, I am available to negotiate a delivery price to bring this beautiful car to you.
